I don't know Real Deal . Hound was at the game and reported the score a few posts up on this page. Maybe you can query him. In any event the "forward battle" at this age level seems a little irrelevant . Its' really about who has got the best of the backs and who can manage defensive schemes...

@ Hound I didn't get to see Churchie and State High on the weekend but ( in the 13's ) 67-0 seems like a shellacking I assume the "A" Team was trotted out for the 3rd chukka again ? And likely after the damage had been done ? I wouldn't have thought the State High forward pack would have...

I'm unsure as to the meaning of your post Lion On one hand you are of the view that BBC weren't up to it but then refer to physicality and structures before questioning the capacity of their Coaches I assume you are of the view that GT comfortably have their measure despite the...

And yeah ....TSS do seem to be Senior School recruiters ....although I think this model won't work that well for them moving forward

Don't know . Hound and Nightmare can probably wade in on this one Trials don't means so much anyway . Boys are either doing other Term2 sports or Coaches mix things up quite a bit to get an idea on different kids etc

@ Hound and Nightmare I really like Churchie's U13 pack....FWIW I would rate them as the best forward pack in the age group

Will be really interesting to hear how Nudgee and TSS match up tomorrow in the 12's to 14's Two of the consistently strongest schools for so long seem to be lagging in recruitment in these age groups that will probably be part of the eventual story over the next 5 years I note the comment...

I'm with Rugbyrugby and NCWK ....why would anyone bullshit about new recruits when this is part of the accepted reality in how school programs ( and age groups within ) are built It is entirely conceivable that with differing growth and skill / development rates, and , better quality Coaching...

depth is something you have to build from the ground up starting from U12 to U13 - and not just in recruiting but more in the quality of your Coaching at these age levels and additional opportunities available ( clinics and tours etc ) It literally takes 3 to 4 years to build genuine depth to...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I wouldn't have Hooper in my 23 Reasons being : 1. Gill and Pocock are better on the ball 2. McMahon is a true impact "power" player both as a ball runner and as a defender. His defensive work rate in particular is off the charts. McMahon also gives you a 3rd line out option if you are...

Spot on BAG And as I said....it's true for all schools that seem to be trending toward this realisation when they look at folding recruitment into their overall program The school has to matter first , then the program , both of which in what they stand for , and the kid needs to absorb and...

@ Vegas I think the notion that Tom Barker ripped the guts out of BBC Rugby is grossly unfair . It suggests he was a lone operative in an effort ( the right effort at the time ) to address a historically shyte program Success has many fathers but failure is an orphan as they say Except...

I remember Reynolds more as an 8 to lock and vice versa. A bit before the time of Steve Tuynman at 8

@ GNostic Genia - more durable and experienced and in a go forward pack he runs rings around White as a running 9 . White is a kicking 9 . Ball in hand . Cooper is , admittedly , a left field suggestion at 12....and I should explain ....I wouldn't necessarily start him at 12 .....but he is...
