I don't know about the story Paty305 (the BS one), because I think it IS BS. I have been associated with the club since the late sixty's (and even though I was a child) and I think the filthy micks was probably on the mark. In the 'ol "green shed" days there were a number of wild and woolly...

King thought I saw you down at St Lucia, busily typing on yr pad! What was your take on the game?

    QLD Colts - 2016

The Sunnybank game is at Brothers the week after Easter (the 2nd of April, I think) and should be a cracker. I have my money on the filth to continue their run for the moment. There are a number of players coming back including Harry Hoppert, Tom Zappala, Liam Richman and Connor Storck. I...

Yeah another very good game by the filth. Uni looked very good in the first half with some excellent tries and moves; and for a fleeting moment you felt that they may just run away with it, but they didn't. Brothers came back with a late first half try. I think half time was 12-10 Uni's way...

It was 33 degrees at St Lucia....no river breeze there! But all the boys survived it. Thank God

Yes I heard at least Jack Farrell will be there and maybe one or two others. Probably more interested in where the TGS and Churchie guys will be next year. James McMillian was at the Brothers meeting, which would be a good for them if he were to go that way. So was Braden Schiller, a great...

A big thanks to Ben McCormack and Matt Kaye for their presentation last night at Brothers Rugby Club. As always the message was simple, pure and to the point (what you expect from the club!). There was no fancy talk of houses, money or anything like that. It was "We are Brothers, we love rugby...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2015

given the "Public school" enclave is also under pressure from other sports the gene talent pool from the privileged dozen schools will be shrinking further, the seagulls flight path really needs to have a softened curve, maybe an ACT, WA or Victorian selector coaching team would reduce the...

Very good analysis Sage. Just one more thing that got me was the lack of foresight to change plan when clearly we were not penetrating through the middle with the pick and drive. I know the kiwi's had Kennewell marked, and knew pretty well he does not pass, but the ball hardly got to Ngamanu or...

I watched most of the games as well. The Australian Schoolboys were disappointing. But all is not lost!! The Baba's played very well, were competitive and all but won against NZ schoolboys: actually they should have won given the kicking opportunities. First off congratulations to the Kiwi's...

Well done to the Ba Ba's. A gutsy performance against a much bigger opposition. Just a kick in it by the end. They never gave in and had a never say die attitude. On a negative, was disappointed with the referee. NZ Schools were allowed to infringe at the ruck, sometimes at will and were...

Ah Warren, all those wonderful memories come flooding back! Think I just take a pleasant roll in the mud...excuse me for a bit.

Sounds like a lot are being "heavily recruited" by Uni. There are several that are going for the Bond University Scholarship. I think young Riley (TSS) and Gavin Luka (NC) have applied and would be highly favoured by Bond. The rest well who knows. I would prefer an even spread of talent rather...

Agree RedsHappy. Also there ability to be consistent and lower injury count, it all helps. Defence is always a prominent point (if the opposition don't score much, they can't win).

So your interested more in the 13 & 14's BraveandGame. Good for you. Still think the u15's & 16's still hold more weight to a schools program, as do the firsts. And that's my opinion.

Agree with the whole of school approach and the fun that the kids have in learning rugby as a life skill. Totally disagree that the 15A and 16 A don't carry much weight......that IMO is garbage. Just more people on here interested in the 13 & 14's, which is fine, just surprising.

I understand the forum WW probably more surprised that there were not as many contributors for the Firsts and particularly very little for the 16's. Just trying to get some proportion to it. Maybe we will have a tough time and I saw Tom Wright, whom I think is a good footballer, but it takes...

Agreed. NC are fairly consistent across all age groups still - although no U13/U14 top 3s. TSS definitely leave it to the older age groups and have done that across a number sports for a decade or 2. BSHS/IGS/BBC leading the charge down in the younger age groups. warrenwobble, Monday at...
