http://www.dailyadvertiser.com.au/story/5105029/new-and-old-faces-on-the-way-for-albury/?cs=149 Looks like Albury are keen to make a resurgence, interesting comments from Paul Musarra. He says they have never really been very successful recruiting players... Pretty sure without their player...

Matt McTaggart was also there playing for the Defence Force team, along with Simon Vunilagi and Emori Vueti from Leeton in the Brumbies men's team and joining Claudia in the Women's Brumbies was Cessy Smith and Ua Ravu from Leeton also... Not a bad representation from our zone at the national...

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

I think the announced window makes the inclusion of a Japanese team more likely now there is no clash with their top league. I'm thinking Western Force Japan Singapore Hong Kong Malaysia China/Korea I still believe both Sri Lanka and Fiji are in the wrong time zones otherwise they would be...

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

Not sure about Fiji, Timezone is the issue - same for Sri Lanka. I’m thinking Hong Kong, Singapore, KL, Perth and 2 of Shanghai, Beijing or Seoul. Japan already has the Sunwolves and Top league. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    NRC onwards and upwards

I really think there need to be two NRC teams per Super franchise. Rebels - Rising & Spirit, Reds - Brisbane & QLD Country, Tahs, Rams & Rays, Brumbies - Vikings & NSW Country. This would evenly distribute the professional players and force the Tahs into managing their two teams much like the...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2018

There might be an option for a 1 team comp but would also be a fair bit of travel, Deni, Hay, Coota, Temora & West Wyalong - maybe Army or Junee??? Other than that they would have to come up with both 1st & 2nd grade and we don't really want a bye in the comp, so would only want 2 of the 3. In...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2018

Unfortunately Paul, I think the days of whoever is in town plays are well and truly over. With the exception of Aggies and possibly CSU (who both should get a stack of new players each year, but also lose plenty) every club is bringing in a couple of players. I don't think there is a problem...

Leeton???? SIRU 1st Grade Premiers SIRU Women's Premiers SIRU Club Champions RFL 1st Grade Premiers Their soccer team was also playing finals and they have 2 mungo clubs from a town the same size as Tumut... But Tumut are going well too ;)

    Southern Inland Rugby 2018

If they get the right person they will win. The size and demographics of the town for one club mean they should be up there every year with Waratahs. Internal power struggles saw them lose their premiership winning coach and star players after one season and they have not been able to get back...

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

Maybe we need to go down the path of private ownership - I know it is very risky (the Rebels have shown how not to do it) But you only need to have an 8 team comp to start with - that is 14 rounds then go into regional playoff. The beauty is that the ARU are then only having to play match...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The problem is the Shute Shield wants to be all things, both the local rugby club where anyone can turn up and have a run and also the tier below Super Rugby - it has to be one or the other. How may grades to the NRL, AFL (and even NSL when they went national) clubs have? The people dreaming of...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

That is the problem, when the game went pro here the ARU, NZRU & SARU wanted to keep control of everything. In England and France the clubs got in first and signed the players before the unions could. They don't pay players wages which is the major cost the ARU have and the reason we are in the...

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

Too many teams from the wrong timezones... I would think the AP Dragons in Singapore and a team in Hong Kong would be in the initial six. I have: Western Force Asia Pacific Dragons (Singapore) Hong Kong Western Sydney Rams Then two from: Sydney Rays NSW Country Eagles Canberra Vikings...
