    Proposed Nations Championship

Pffft, I didn’t say it was going to make much money

    Proposed Nations Championship

Anyway having thought about the international stuff a bit more, we could still go with league of nations concept - just don't include the current 6 nations. Maybe have 2 divisions of 8 then 3 regional divisions of 6 after that. Div 1: New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, Argentina, Fiji...

    Proposed Nations Championship

Yeah, I know years ago the Tokyo Crusaders and Tokyo Gaijin who were mostly made up of forign workers could only get so far in the Tokyo comp before they were dropped to lower divisions for some obscure flouting of the rules. They were never allowed to compete at the top levels - the Japanese...

    Proposed Nations Championship

Because their main goal is to grow the game in different markets - how do they do that with out the ability of USA, Brazil, China, Germany or Spain to play at the top level? Without the promotion/relegation there would be less opportunity than there is now for lower nations to play a match...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Agree with everything you have said. I think that Fox would be a bit concerned about losing the current rugby subscribers. While I realise my circle of friends is more rugby orientated I reckon well over half of them would drop fox if the rugby went. I'm sure that would equate to something...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2019

Not sure Paul, some of those names have been around for a while, how long does someone have to stay in town to be considered local? The statement about the juniors was directed and a comment that the senior club had done nothing to help with juniors etc (not sure what the etc is??) inferring...

    World Rugby U20 Championship 2019

I understand how they operate the 2 divisions, but I think it could be managed better. Some reasonable teams don't make it, such as USA and Samoa (who came 2nd last year) but then you get the likes of Hong Kong, Kenya and Brazil all there. Portugal almost went up a couple of years ago losing...

    Southern Inland Rugby 2019

Have have spent any more than other clubs and what they taken away from the juniors etc? Talking to some of the Leeton juniors at Coota over the weekend they are the strongest they have ever been with full teams in all the age groups except one or two of the girls touch. The whole city of...

    Australian Rugby / RA

People can represent a club - They can not pick anybody from outside their listed squad of contracted players - no matter how much they are carving up the Brisbane Premiership. The Reds can call it what they like but they haven't been a representative team for several seasons now.

    Aussie Player Exodus

SO just thinking about the potential Skelton situation and what has happened with To'omua and White. Can Samu Kerivi sign an intent to return to the Reds in 2023 and remain eligible for the Wallabies?

I'm sure it'll be related to RA's handling of the IF saga also

    World Rugby U20 Championship 2019

I think every second match at these championships has been effected b ya red card. That's the problem to me they are not rare anymore and are being used for softer and softer offences and referees are people and make mistakes which can decide matches and tournaments. 78 minutes with 14 players...

Kagifa Samoa v Western Force - Ballymore, Brisbane - 1:40 PM (EST), Saturday, 15 June 2019

If only they played it on Sunday when there is no other rugby. I enjoyed the match last week but only the 2nd half and I left work early. Saturday at 3:30 all the local clubs are playing so local fans probably won't make it and like many others around the country I'll be at my local field...

    World Rugby U20 Championship 2019

Just before half time in the NZ-SA match one of the Blacks conceded a penalty for a high tackle that looked no different to the Aussie one other than it was after the ball was passed - no card, just frustrating the inconsistency in refereeing.

    Shute Shield 2019

Maybe he is enjoying playing with his mates and is the best hooker in the club? People complain when ex-internationals don't give back to their club. I don't really like Randwick much but it's great to see someone who love the place enough to want to be playing at his age and surely Randwick...

    Rugby News from unexpected places

I did see somewhere a newspaper article discussing MLR finals which finished off saying the 3 new teams were coming in next season and LA in 2021.

    Global Rapid Rugby

So Michael Leitch was interviewed for the Planet Rugby website today, mostly talking about the upcoming world cup, but the bit at the end of the article I found interesting. https://www.planetrugby.com/the-element-of-surprise-has-gone-michael-leitch/ “Sunwolves are what we need to progress...
