If it is set up like that I reckon World Rugby would also put some coin in, they have stated they would provide funding for a Fijian team based in Suva. If MP (Moana Pasifika) can provide the same pathways for Samoan & Tongan eligible players it's a worthwhile investment.

I can see Fox making a bid for the RWC (along with most media companies) but if they have no other rugby why would they bother with the U20's? With the RWC I can't imagine Nine/Stan getting all the other rugby and not bothering to go hard for the rights to the RWC

Can pubs & clubs access Stan - I know they currently can't legally access Kayo and have to pay massive fees for a box with very limited channels.

I saw an ad tonight for the State of Origin on 9 - they do self marketing and cross promotion very well. Advertising the Bledisloe during SOO or NRL finals opens up a heap of potential new viewers...

I think it will happen, certainly not as big as normal (Eric the eel types won’t be there) and sports not mingling so it’ll be very different.

I still much prefer the 9/Stan offer, I know it is a bit less but someone at home with nothing to do a a Saturday will turn on the TV and scroll through the options and may tune in - on the other hand even free Kayo needs someone to know it's on and how to stream it before they will tune in.

There is the SLAR in South America which was only in round 1 of it's first year when shut down due to COVID. The Jags could go there but the standard is well down on Super Rugby. A couple of them have signed with the Force also but if a 6th Aussie team was to be set up for Super AU then I think...

I'm a fan and I would like a domestic competition followed by a champions cup and also ran's shield. Ultimately an 8 team comp in Australia (including the Drua) with the top 4 qualifying for the champions cup and the bottom 4 the other. Include teams from Japan and maybe SLAR in the champions cup.

I assume the SARU are a shareholder of the company - the company gets paid so they get their share. Morally they should say sorry for the mucking around guys, feel free to split our share among yourselves. I get the feeling they will be joining the 6 nations soon so aren't too worried about...
