    Proposed Nations Championship

The article talks of a shortened TRC. so it would be one game against each team, not home and away.

    Proposed Nations Championship

Strewth - that could work too. And you are correct RE Finals :D

    Proposed Nations Championship

the real problem would be if Italy or one of the 2 extra teams in an expanded RC were relegated - does that mean they are relegated from the 6 Nations/RC as well. 6 nations doesnt do relegation.

    Proposed Nations Championship

Derpus, I reckon the Wallabies could do with kind of accountability right about now. but in all likelihood, the difference between say even argentina down to italy, japan, fiji is quite a step. Even after this dreadful year the wallabies would still be safe from relegation.

    Proposed Nations Championship

so if its a 12 team comp - that's the 6 Nation bunch plus 4 RC + Japan and Fiji perhaps? so we'd run a RC of 6 teams - only play each other once. everyone plays 11 tests a year (nz v oz would probably throw in an extra bled to keep that at 2 tests min). Giving a picture like this NH teams...

    Proposed Nations Championship

did any of you read the full article?? "The early proposal also includes a tier-two version of the competition operating at the same time as the major league, with a promotion/relegation system used to decide who swaps in and out of the bottom two spots each year."

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

On the site it lists as “coming soon” - apps for Android TV, Apple TV and Telstra TV. Would think they will be available once Beta testing is complete and in time for hard launch

    Global Rapid Rugby

Hore would have said that because that is exactly the time frame when the SFS will be being rebuilt and the Tahs will be play a number of games out of the new Parramatta Stadium. Can easy deduce from this that once they are back in cosy Moore Park, they won’t give two hoots about the West.

    Reds 2019

For mine, I’m looking at who has gained in experience and and should be able to bring something more to the team next year. Wallabies like Thor, Tui and Rodda should be up a level in performance next year. Timu and Amosa have seen some Test minutes and hopefully are able to take another step...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Tell me if anyone is surprised by any of this.... https://www.smh.com.au/sport/rugby-union/rugby-kept-its-own-cricket-style-cultural-review-secret-in-2015-20181105-p50e4u.html They realised it was needed... but then pulled out half way... and THEN decided to keep it from the public...

    Reds 2019

I get the disappointment of signing the interim ... but I reckon the reds have made some good calls since he has been in the seat. I just wonder is it him, or Miller that is making the calls. I also think Reds are having to be very careful with their money at the moment. Their season could be...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

To put Marinos' comments in context. He is in charge of two comps that the constituent unions design and endorse. You are hardly going to get him to say bad stuff about his own job. As far as Oz is concerned, Castle is the one who should be talking about suitability of comps to meet our...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

have just read the Australian's coverage of this same conversation with Castle about broadcast deals. the direct quote it uses differs from the one used by SMH. Its quote has Castle saying "You cant look at Super Rugby in isolation. There's our domestic comp, there's Super Rugby, there is our...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Isn’t the (supposed) main drawcard of Super Rugby the international component? You can tell that the international component of Super Rugby isn’t the the drawcard it’s lauded to be by the fact that for 5+ years the focus has been on more local derbies - and now we have Castle trying to flog it as our “DOMESTIC...
