Breakaway English, French, Saffa super rugby plans

    Brumbies 2012

Though he did beat Ireland, Wales and France in the '99 RWC. Sort of like a half-Grand Slam with the stadiums jumbled around.

    Good vision, Lee ;)

    Blind-Blindside

On McCalman; at this stage, McCalman isn't up to it. But I would hate to see him discarded from Wallaby contention now as I still believe he has a lot to offer further down the track. If he was to be discarded, it would be a good example of the problems with Australian forward selection. At...

    David Pococks Eating Troubles

I'll probably get shouted down by someone who knows more about OCD or similar disorders, but is it possible that someone could harness their OCD in a positive way that would make it more of a benefit to them than a detrimental disorder?

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

I think it's all about attitude and intelligence. I look at some league players and think they could make it purely because they have the work ethic to make it in a different game, and the intelligence to learn from their mistakes. Gallen doesn't strike me as one of these players.

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

This is a legitimate tactic, I hope someone can find a video that illustrates this point. It's basically a tackle that brings the player to ground while also preventing an offload in the tackle. I suspect the reason EFTTA6/7 thinks this would be useful as an openside is that it's a tactic...

2012 Super Rugby Referees & TMO variation

Good news about Angus Gardner. He's from the Wayne Barnes school of refereeing: that is, referee acts as a facilitator of the game within the rules rather than a Keystone Kop catching players red handed. Good communicator too.

    Waratahs 2012

It doesn't really matter if Foley is a stodgy or conservative type, I think his main focus will be on the forwards. If Foley can get the forwards rolling heavy then that just sets up the whoever is shaping the backs for some easier opportunities.

    Who will emerge in 2012?

Lord Lucan? Maaaaybe Foley at the Tahs. Don't worry, already got a name for him if he's a bit of a Dud Roodt: Foltey. Ben Lucas maybe. Tapuai will have to cure HIV (although I hear they've already done this for one guy?) to meet the lofty expectations being set, although even if he doesn't...

Unfortunately, we've seen it a bit with JOC (James O'Connor). Here's hoping he finds some consistency.

    2011 Spring Tour

I disagree that he is poor under the high ball; it was only a few years ago that this was one of the key elements of his game. I'm not saying that he's the best option for the Wallabies at 15, but you can't come out with such a absolute statement like you did and not expect to cop some flak...

    Waratahs 2012

I more or less agree, and this was one of the key reasons the Tahs backline was so disappointing last season. Our backs should have been much more threatening.

That isn't really the only criterion you're basing your previous statement on, is it?

    Waratahs 2012

This from a media release about Sarel Pretorius; pretty interesting. I don't think we will see him on the wing, but after the injuries of last year we can't really rule anything out.
