    QLD COLTS 2018

No worries. As you will have seen though, there's more than a few people unconnected with Jeeps who also rate De Flavis highly, and in my view he would go well regardless of the club he was playing at. As for Emosi, I was pointing out that he'd be a ridiculous selection this year but I'd...

    QLD COLTS 2018

De Flavis from GPS must be some chance, surely? As for Emosi Tuquiri, has he even played a Colts game for Jeeps? Emosi playing U18's league this year as far as I'm aware, but wouldn't surprise me to see him down at Jeeps next year as he doesn't turn 18 until October.

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2018

As I saw it, Kopua looked better than Winchester at 2 yesterday. I also thought Qld 1's Nongorr excelled v NSW 2, he must be in the frame for the reserve tighthead but I understand he'll be back next year anyway. Isn't Qld I's loosehead, Vella, back next year as well?

Looks like a pretty good backline to me, but what's happening with Gordon and Parata at 10? Also, is Glenn Vaihu starting from a fair way back in the GPS field for a Qld wing spot?

Thanks for your input GO. Out of interest, of the various GPS forwards referred to in your post above, how many are turning 18 this year? I'm not familiar with all of them, but I think at least Gerrard, Tautau and Tuimavave are 18 this year, that extra year of growth and S&C does give the...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2018

This goes to show how much things have changed over the years, for a few different reasons. As recently as the 90's, and maybe even the early 2000's, there would have been many First XV flankers who were < 183cm and 83kg.

Geez “champ”, I think that, like your spelling, your comprehension skills need a fair bit of work. If you take the time to dislodge that massive chip from your shoulder and read my post again you might realise that you’re not actually responding to my points, but I’m not going to waste my time...

Thanks Thommo, that's a good and fair response. However, I don't think I was being unreasonable or simplistic in suggesting that SPC has been massively over-represented on this occasion. I happen to genuinely believe that MCA was the better of the two teams both individually and...

Thommo I know, or at least assume, that you're not an AIC selector, but you're going to have a very hard time convincing anyone that SPC got 11 boys in this squad on merit. Firstly, SPC were soundly beaten at home 30-14 by an under-strength MCA on Old Boys day. Secondly, it can be argued...

Maybe, Kuhn’s definitely a good prop who has played plenty of rep footy, but I would have thought that Roszka has him covered around the ground. I didn’t see the game, but I’d be interested to know who won the front row battle when MCA played SPC.

VIk, after watching these guys play v MCA yesterday only politics would get any of them a start in the AIC match day squad of 23. MCA's No.8 Ben Byrne was easily the best player on the field yesterday, their 3 Blake Roszka was probably next and Jacobson's opponent, Kale Van Dugteren, had a...

I'm not sure exactly what format they're looking at for the Qld Schools team next year, but let's not forget that Education Qld personnel won't be involved in the process so it shouldn't closely resemble the selection of Met teams for U12's, U15's etc. On the other hand, you can still be...

By the sound of it Lachy Tennison-Woods hasn't played a full AIC game for MCA this season, after injuring his thumb in the trial v SLC - is this correct? I'd regard LTW as the best back in the AIC, so his absence will have had a big impact on MCA's performance this year. Anyway, if it's...

I hope that Villa do bring good numbers over next week. Last ever school game for most of the players in the Firsts and Seconds on both sides and Villa likely to be competitive in both games will make for a great atmosphere on McMahon Oval

Wow, I gave Paddies a chance but thought Iona would get over the line, There will be great scenes at Banyo next Saturday afternoon if Paddies beat Padua, it’ll be their first ever First XV premiership. Having said that, I’m pretty sure it’s “Back to Banyo” day and the final game for Padua’s...

It’s interesting that the list you found only starts at 2007, whereas every list I’ve seen goes back to the advent of AIC in 1999. Mere coincidence, or the fact that Ashgrove won the First XV premiership in 1999 and 2001-2006? Anyway, Iona beat Ashgrove fair and square this year so they will...
