Perhaps, Grammar’s 1st XV is definitely the best 3rd XV this year.

Must have been a very long labour . There must be some heated arguments about who deserves their spot more at family dinner.

I don’t understand this comment. At 13 - 15’s the majority of kids in my sons club team and rep team also play on Saturday for their school. In 16’s and opens they focus only on school rugby as the game becomes even more physical and their studies become more demanding. I believe Joeys...

No interest. It would be the death of rugby in the same way expanding super rugby has been. It is the traditions and tribalism that makes school rugby special. Possibly a conference system could develop to allow AAGPS to 2 to play off against top 2 from other comps post season.

Which player was in the bin and what for?

I don’t think that is correct, he has been paid by Souths for years and there would not have been allowed to play GPS in the past if there was such a rule.

    Hasn’t Brial finished school?

Worth noting the huge improvement from Joeys 14a’s . Scots thumped them twice last year. I know Scots have sent 3 good players up an age group but Joeys have a few key players out injured. Although the Joeys team lost I think they deserve credit for closing the gap significantly. BTW, anyone...

GAME DAY!! Perfect conditions, what a cracker.

Joeys normally have a schedule out by Thursday lunchtime but nothing yet. That said the U13’s at least were being told to be ready to play and they are training as if the coaches expect they are.

If certain schools don’t want to play let them forfeit. Let those that want to compete do so.

This thread is at risk of turning into a kooky conspiracy blog. Hopefully we have some AAGPS rugby to comment on soon

There is none at all although his tone and method is very different to the AAGPS chair (Ticehurst). Who knows, bad cop and good cop routine. Fair to say Kings would be desperate to play given their form vs Scots. I think Joeys Vs Kings would be a block buster.

There have been 0 issues after a minimum 3 external trial games at most schools. Not surprisingly the players in my son’s under 13 community team also attend school. They end up playing other players who also attend school. So allowing community sport but not school does nothing to reduce the...

If you want to know about irony, consider the north shore community rugby team that had its game against a neighbouring suburb cancelled and a new game scheduled against a team in south west Sydney..... this happened last weekend.

Joker, out of interest what was the win:loss ratio when Joeys played Scots recently. I think Scots may have won the 14a’s but that’s it from the A’s, 1’s or 2’s.... ratio last year would be very similar. Thought I would just point that out given Wristy’s obsession with recent data.

I agree it has finally changed. I know of many 1st VIII rowers at shore over the past decade who have been told to choose.

    NSW AAGPS 2020

Genuinely silly theory. Reality is that Shore have been forcing rowers to choose and effectively opt out of rugby for a long time. Their rugby would have benefited from having more towers available. During the very dominant 80’s - 90’s period for Joeys the forwards were typically 50% rowers.
