what if we had a Sat 17's district rugby comp. They then picked teams from that comp and schools combined at each NRC rugby centre. That is exactly what the ARU is doing but it will not stem the tide of players leaving rugby. The existing pathway is wrong. If these kids don't cut it in the JGC and don't make the gold squads they are going to say that's it. So again you need to create a pathway via district rugby as discussed...

The discussion on this thread is starting to go around in circles now. Some of the ideas on the way forward seems to be agreed on by a number of people. To progress we need to canvass people you know in the rugby hierarchy, send submissions to the SJRU executive get a majority number of like...

Look at it this way if the schools were to pay the $200 then they become a direct shareholder / stakeholder who will expected a say in decision making This would give the schools direct power up against clubs, rather than the indifference towards clubs that exists given the stock standard...

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

I think participation and performance go hand in hand. With a performance pathway you keep players there and also attract others. By pulling the stronger players out of a local comp you create a more even comp where weaker players don't get bashed as much and enjoy their rugby more. With smaller...
