True, but the behaviours of some BSHS parental/family spectators has been appalling at some games and largely gone unattended/addressed by BSHS officials. Last year particularly was disgraceful. quote="Rugrat, post: 1146211, member: 6827"]Sadly not sure that State High has ever had to...

Yes - some good news on the rugby front. Not so sure about the "no limit of spectators for outdoor venues" prediction for schools rugby. I suspect all GPS schools need to agree on "new" protocols going forward with the next Level restrictions which will still control entry and exits, crowd...

I believe that was the initial thinking but for reasons of "duty of care" and some parental protests etc, a parent/guardian will be permitted to attend in case of injury etc etc. As you suggested, there will be some gap between fixtures to allow of the in/out of players, coaches/ parent etc.

Any updates on "crowd controls"? We are still hearing whispers of the 1 parent / spectator per player at this stage. There will also be controls on entry and exit to school grounds. Streaming seems to be the alternative viewing option where permitted. Any truth to the rumour that TSS were...

Interested to know how the 100 person limit is going to be managed/policed, particularly at large, wide-spread playing venues like our GPS schools. It will be a logistical headache in more ways than one! I have heard of the "1 parent" option but sounds ridiculous. The July 10 contact requirement...

Yes - it's all very intriguing. I'm backing rugby out this year unfortunately. Particularly with the spectre of ATAR looming in Term 3 for the first time, the delayed season start and impact to the ATAR period after the disruptions of Term 2, I believe will see many headmasters putting the...

The rumour mills are running hot.....latest being BCC 1st XV squad busted by police for training, TSS 1ST XV caught on camera training via a Police drone. Have to laugh at it all.

Speaking with a referee mate on the weekend. With club, GPS and potentially AIC (playing a Term 3 competition) all happening at the same time, the availability of qualified refs will be a huge issue to manage. Suspect there might be some "controversial" fixture results with home ground / team...

Sadly, I think 2020 Rugby will be a write-off. Very disappointing for all the boys, Rugby co-ordinators and coaches. One wonders what "alternative" options might be available.

Agreed that a few bad apples should not spoil the crop but unfortunately this sort of incident is not isolated at The Bank. There are some serious culture and behavioural issues that have to be addressed out there. No one likes playing there because of the behaviours of some spectators...

Ok - so he is 17 and makes the 2 year rule. Still smells bad to me. Plenty of young blokes who played Colts 1 this year who are head and shoulders above and more eligible. This sort of preferential crap/ not transparent selection process has to stop if we want to keep good young blokes in...

Can someone explain/enlighten me as to how a Nudgee schoolboy (who is only in Grade 11 I believe) is selected in the Brisbane NRC Under 19 side? I suspect the olde "development" card is being played but it is an insult to the Colts players (and who are the right age) who have toiled away over...

And how much has it cost $ them?? I suggest TSS, Nudge and BBC form their own Scholarship Division next year and play each other 3 times and maybe then BBC might get a return for their investment finally.

I agree the large selections of the Bond Uni players based on the team's and individual performances by the Bond Uni?Queensland Country coach is a huge conflict of interest. Why is this BS continually allowed to happen. Who is checking this process? Similarly, a number of the City selections...

I should also add that Churchie do the best coffee via their own barista team, not the drive-by divvie vans. The Hot Chips this year were also a special.

On to more important things.....which school is dishing up the best steak/hamburgers this season? I know it's early for this MasterChef round but I thought I would steer the conversations away from the perennial BBC bleating to something of more substance and interest to all. For mine...

    QLD Colts 2019

Sadly, the referee had a major influence in the Colts 2 Minor Semi-Final. There should have been an adult refereeing the game at least, not a 19 year old peer. Two howlers of decisions (1. over-ruling a linesmen who called out and awarded a Brothers try 2. calling a Uni try held up after the...

The insurance companies and lawyers are well involved in this discussion. The arms race that has become GPS rugby is a huge liability.

The 1st XV competition has become a joke (read "arms race" of scholarships/importing, NRL conscripts, 3 year completion of Grades 11-12 etc). I trust that in the soon to come years/s that the tiered competition like AAGPS that Nudgee, TSS and BCC enjoy playing each other twice (home and away)...
