Converting point scoring opportunities is the important bit, yes. Im not sure I agree that missed unopposed kicks at goal is the same as our attempts to score tries being successfully defended, but ok. Will the boks make big changes to they way they play? I doubt it.

They did miss two conversions. Sliding doors, but you know you're gonna get between ~3 and ~10 chances at goal in your typical test. Whether or not they wind up being in different spots due to the butterfly effect, if you don't make them and the other side does, you stand a good chance of losing.

They scored three tries to our one and lost. I doubt any significant style changes are afoot. Given we scored most of our points from penalty kicks within their own half, I'd suggest they will further prioritise playing the game at our end of the paddock.

I'm not a fan of the maul at all, but if it cannot be legally defended then the wallabies have (largely) failed to capitalise on this for the last two decades (at least), as they have had numerous mauls in the oppo 22 (and elsewhere) shut-down legally, or at least with apparent legality. Seems...

I thought the post match exchange between QC (Quade Cooper) and SBW was really quite touching. You don't normally see those exchanges in that kind of forum and it beats the hell out of the usual platitudes. Otherwise I tune out most of the studio shit, since they are just recounting what I've witnessed with...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

commentary team homerism is just boring. i don't need stirring up. The Americans have it sorted. Network TV NFL broadcasts are called by by genuinely impartial guys (even recent players present this way - the best analyst around in any sport (IMO) at the moment is Tony Romo because he can...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Stan has 2.2million subscribers. I don't think it's reasonable to count the $10 (or 15 or 19) in the incremental amount for stan sport.

5 bucks seems light to me. That's only 60 bucks a year assuming people subscribe for the full year. Need an awful lot of subs to cover your nut and it doesnt leave much cash in the bank to chase other sports.

Bledisloe #4 New Zealand vs Australia Nov 7 2020

we haven't been able to match them 'expansively' on any kind of consistent basis for about 20 years. We can keep the game competitive until it opens up and then we get pumped. Not sure what tests people are watching if they can't see this. The more 'expansive' the matches get, the worse the...

sure, but that doesn't help much this weekend. NL looked like he forgot what sport he was playing.

He needs a W. Do any of those options give him a better chance of winning? I doubt it

And history supports this strategy. In the pro era, we've never beaten them when they've hit 27 or more. Our overage win is 26-18.

I like the team. This key to beating the ABs is defense. Play at the right end of the park, defend well and cut the unforced errors and we are in with a shot. Personally I think the obsession with 'playmaking' ignores the history of the matches we've played against them, and the reality is that...
