Right? Also, dont you want to have people that other people want to hire? He hasn't done a good job this year but other people wanting to hire your staff is surely better than the alternative

I can't read it but if he did say this, he is living in cuckoo land. Any reality in which we gave the capacity to consider what kind of 'style' we play alongside the goal of winning is long gone. We can't even win anymore. No one else in the test arena devotes any energy to how 'attractive'...

    RWC Pool C - Australia v Wales - 5AM 25 Sep AEST

i'll admit that i don't watch a tremendous amount of NH club football and i acknowledge some of the refereeing is a bit wonky but the tests between NH teams are pretty hard charging these days and they run the footy as much, and quote often more capably, than Australia?

Yes Burke did have a different view on that. I just thought between the three of them we might get something a bit more transformational.

Anyone else listen to the GBRA podcast with Matt Burke? I suppose we shouldn't expect solutions from AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), Gits and Burke (Mitchell was in France and hungover) - though Burke has roles with the tahs so he is actually kinda involved - and granted it was recorded early morning yday after the...

If Fiji get 5 against Georgia - a match that occurs the day before ours, i think we a mathematically elim, right?

A player will never slam the current coach that is selecting him for there's a risk that the next one might not.

I don't understand what you are saying. Australian Rugby rode a wave of great interest in this country for many years after the 1990s. and the results in the ensuing decade were a good deal better than they've been of late. Sure, no major trophies but surely win rates of about 60% (Jones: 57%...

Yes i've watched a little myself lately and they were streets ahead of the current lot in terms of everything you mention. And to be sure, many of the highlights from the semi, which was really the final, were Horan et al running up and down the paddock with the pill in hand. But ultimately 9...

as for overseas players I still think the solution is to open up the floodgates and let the I've said on this board some years ago that some overseas clubs wanting to pay 1m a year each for our best players will ultimately be seen as a blessin rather than a curse. We actually only need them...

I think the major problem in this country is that comparatively few people actually enjoy the game of rugby as it is successfully played at the international level, or at least they think they do (because Australia has rarely played it well), and as a consequence, the administrators and the...

Hardly Foley's job to tow the company line though is it? And his remarks, with the pic of him and rennie included for the required context, are consistent with what a large percentage of this forum have been saying

A week ago I said that we could lose to Portugal and Eddie would survive as he is being touted by Mclennan as part of the 'solution' and that this RWC would be touted as the pain we needed to go through Now I am not so sure. We've been embarrassed on the global stage and I don't think EJ (Eddie Jones) will...

Tate has been doing plenty of box kicking including some that barely went 15m up the paddock and weren't recovered. I'll never understand this and have never understood it since box kicks became en vogue. You're 35 out from your own line. Best case scenario you regain possession on the 50. After...

I think the team is fairly rational. I'd prefer Skelton be fit (didn't see much evidence of Porecki doing any captaincy). To the extent there is any kind of plan, and if there is it appears to be loosely formed, losing to Fiji certainly wasn't part of it. Cruising through to a QF loss to either...
