    Wallabies 2023

Donaldson started against Wales, i thought? In any event i can understand selecting an unknown quantity over the known quantity if you've decided the known isn't good enough to do what you want him to do.

I like Quade but has he been any better than just-good-enough at any point in the last few years? If the objective is to win the world cup then it's not hard for me to understand his omission, as unlikely as it is either with or without him.

    Bledisloe 2 2023 @ Dunedin 12:35PM Sat 5 Aug

Do we have a team of veterans that has any meaningful prospect of winning in New Zealand or winning three knockout matches on the trot in the RWC?

    Bledisloe 1: 29 July @ MCG

Larkham didn't kick at goal either tho

    Bledisloe 1: 29 July @ MCG

Fair enough. They obviously need a kicker in the team.

I thought Gordon looked alright. He gets rid of the ball quickly and I didn't see him involved in many missed tackles. Kicking out of hand looked ok to me though he did miss touch once (that I saw) Not sure why there weren't taking points when 12-7 down or even 19-7 down. Take the 3, kick off...

    Wallabies v Argentina @ CommBank Stadium 7.45pm Sat 15/07

That does make some sense, though you'd think as a new coach coming back with a certain degree of hype around you, you might select your (true) 1st XV for your first test back, against SA in SA.

    Wallabies v Argentina @ CommBank Stadium 7.45pm Sat 15/07

At the risk of re-igniting an argument that has surely taken place (but i have missed), am I the only one that after seeing Mark N (Nawaqanitawase)'s performance in the EOYT, could never conceive of a situation in which Vunivulu was selected over him, absent Mark N (Nawaqanitawase) subsequently failing repeatedly in tests? I've...

Springboks v Wallabies, Loftus Versfeld, Sun 9th Jul 1.05am AEST

They don't get any experience at altitude either, now that SA teams aren't in Super. Not that a match or two a year was going to make you an altitude old hand but at least you knew what you were in for.

Same here. Yesterday I was a lamenting this wasnt being shown on FTA but now i think it's probably good it wasn't.

Would Rennie have survived if they had beaten Italy?

    Wallabies 2023

In the circumstances, I've no idea why you'd consult the players. We know Rennie is a good bloke and probably liked by most or all of the players. He's also keeping them in 500k (or whatever) per year jobs. No shit they would have wanted him to be retained. Problem is, they aren't getting...

Complaint was made to Byron Bay police. Complainant lilely either lives there or was there for some other reason when they decided to lodge the complaint.

    Super Rugby 2022

The ball thing has the ability to transform the sport I reckon. Imagine the stats we are gonna have.

    Australian Rugby / RA

I understand the objective, I just happen to think they're wrong.

    Australian Rugby / RA

What's wrong with revisiting it? Perhaps that players looking at multi year contract have absolutely no certainty about what the rules will be in a year. How should they plan around that? Re the window - if picking the players isn't feasible then do they need the policy? If the coach does luck...

    Australian Rugby / RA

I don't think it holds in NZ. Their thirds would beat us 50% of the time, at least over the last decade. And there isn't unlimited opportunities OS so NZ won't see their well run dry. I don't follow france enough to know, but I suggest the SA/NZ seconds and thirds would absolutely crush ours...

    Australian Rugby / RA

I'm not a fan. I think players - elites down to the very goods - will continue to go OS and before long they'll need to revisit this. Unless RA is planning on winning powerball every year I think guys with quite finite careers looking to make as much as they can will almost all go for the pay...

Wales v Australia, Sunday 21st 4.30 am ADST.

It seems odd to me that a defender can make contact with head, contact considered so egregious that he is sent from the field for the rest of the match, yet the ball carrier need not leave the field for an extensive HIA. Is it dangerous or not?

RC - Wallabies vs Springboks, Gold Coast Sunday 12 September 8:05 PM

Winning'll The same rules apply to all, they just now include a provision for slotting the match winning penalty 40 out and 15 in.
