Brisbane City - NRC Team Official Thread

You think? Definites are Quade, Saia, Genia, Gill, Harris, Horwill, Simmons, and Slipper. That's 8. Possibles are Ant, CFS, Hanson, Schatz, Tapuai, and Turner. That's another 6 of which I'd expect a couple to sneak in. I think 10's pretty realistic.

    VRU 2014

They played 14 men for almost a whole game, though it was true that they evened it on the buzzer. They certainly had the run of play in the 2nd half and there's no doubt in my mind they'd have run away with it with 15 men.

    VRU 2014

TBH I don't think it's as much training facilities as players. I've noticed a lot of guys is PH's 2nds last year playing 1sts. Don't get me wrong, it was an okay 2nds team but it's a huge jump.

    Reds 2014

Sure, it's been a mediocre season but the Reds are headed for a mid table finish. Below their standards? Yes, but if you stuck through the bad years then why draw a line in the sand now?

I'm sure it makes life easier for those city workers, not sure about the back packers.

    Reds 2014

Yeah, if he's going to play anywhere in the forwards let's take a page out of league's book and play him at hooker.

    Reds 2014

There's plenty of good halfbacks in NZ but if they named a squad with 3 half backs tomorrow and he was eligible he'd be a great chance. He'd certainly still be starting if he was still at the Blues.

    Force v Bye

And some weeks it has to play more than one team! Seriously though, can the Force go 5 at home against the BYE?

Brisbane City - NRC Team Official Thread

It will be far more than 20 spots. There's 35 contacted Reds players. 10 will be Wallabies and 5-10 will be injured (or need a postseason cleanout). So really you'll have 15, or at MOST 20, over 2 teams.

    VRU 2014

Went down to the Box Hill game, Moorabbin got a red in the first 5 and still almost won. Missed opportunity for BH who played their hearts out and had some special players but you always got the sense they were just holding on.

How about the Lams with their charismatic mascot Mary?

    It's what NZ's 3rd Tier was called pre-naming sponsors.

Rebels vs Force, Round 10, 2014

The only time Bob has talked about Higgers at length is when he was advocating a change to centre 2 or 3 years ago. Can't accuse the man of not thinking outside of the box.

Canberra Vikings - Offical NRC Team Thread

I think we've been told to expect about 15 Super Rugby players allotted to each NRC team. With injuries, managing workload, etc., I think we can expect to see at least 10 Super Rugby players in the average match day 23. Wallabies will be played in the NRC as is seen fit, probably if they're...

    Rebels 2014

One or two years to finish off the career at home is becoming a pretty standard career trajectory. IDK why, perhaps reliving the glory days? Maybe they set up the athletes with opportunities to pursue coaching/uni studies so they can prepare for life after rugby.

    Rebels 2014

Chisholm doesn't stick out too much when I watch him. He gets stuck into the tight stuff and leads well though. He's still an absolute physical specimen as well. Can we throw all of our monies at Coleman then? I'll call it here, he's the most promising large lock in Australia. Move aside Skelton.

    Melbourne Rising 2014

He's 22 and with his play standard he'd be a good chance to start in the NRC. He'd be a young buck, not a leader.

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

As good as Fifita was (and he was VERY good) he has only ever played 1 good league season. We don't know if he can produce that form again in league, let alone in a code he's never played professionally. I'd love to see him try though, for a FAIR price.

    Rebels 2014

With Pyle leaving, Thompson already gone, and Neville unreliable (though very good this week), I'd love to see us look to Mumm. He'd be an instant addition to the leadership group and while he was always a bit shite in Aus rugby (other than the year he got his first test cap) he's looked very...

    Melbourne Rising 2014

A player who isn't good enough to play professional is Scotland is a good Super Rugby buy? What? I'm not saying he isn't a player of potential (he is a Vic local too) but if the Rebels sign a player on the basis that they were somewhere near good enough to play Pro 12 (in a weak team), then...
