    Western Force 2014

I was tipping him for a breakout 2013 after an excellent end of 2012. Yet he can't make the Force 23, who have plenty of journeyman props about. They do the job and I think Cowan in particular is a terrific statesman, but Manu looked SO promising. I'd be a shame if he went overseas and we...

    Rebels 2014

I don't understand how he missed out on all 5 Kiwi squads this year, given a few have seen fit to sign 3 5/8s. I'd say he'd be as good as any of the starting 10s at the Blues or Highlanders. Less experienced, but he wouldn't have come with a big price tag. Did I miss something? What...

    Rebels 2014

Is it too early to talk Rebels Wallaby bolters? Who's a chance? I'd say Pyle (though maybe not now), Inman, English, and Smith/Lahiff are all chances (some more than others). You'd have to say Burgess is doing enough to be the 3rd 9, with his experience, and Higgers is doing more than enough...

    VRU 2014

We seem to stifle a lot of conversation in this thread with 'early days yet' talk. What fun is it if we can't get excited or gaze into the crystal ball? An internet forum is no place for realism! On another note, any outside tips for the Melbourne Rising team? Do you think Melbourne Rising are...

    VRU 2014

It was an interesting round indeed. So, Uni are looking to be a top 4 side, Footscray are looking to have fallen off the pace despite being better on paper than last year, something's gone wrong at Power House, and Moorabbin/Quins are looking like probably the top 2 sides (with Moorabbin in...

    Rebels 2014

The Rebels players for always amongst the best on the pitch but they don't exactly waltz around scoring tries with every touch either.

    VRU 2014

Interesting round. Are Quins as good as we think? Are Box Hill actually a decent 1st grade team? For that matter, is Uni actually a decent 1st grade team? And, what the hell exactly happened to Footscray?

    Waratahs 2014

If I look like Kearnsy at 45 I'll be stoked.

Is the Kiwi bloke from Hawkes Bay injured? He looked very promising in the ITM.

    Rebels 2014

It probably made the contract a fair bit cheaper and is reasonably standard. They probably presumed a spot in the Wallaby 23 by now would help him stay put. Guys, unless I'm mistaken Pyle was carrying a minor injury for the EOYT, as was Carter from the Brumbies and a few other candidates...

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

If the bloke wants money it's simply, 5 years in Union ending with playing for the Wallabies in the 2019 WC and then 5 or 6 years of making squillions in France/Japan. League isn't a terrible game but a talented athlete can reach the summit (WC, Origin, etc.) quickly the then the experiences...

    VRU 2014

Chargers? Is there something you know that I don't? They were a well beaten Prem 4 team and Cerberus are always a competitive Prem 3 team. As for Souths, fielding a 4ths for them is massive. Footscray have been doing a friendly Sunday fixture for a while now for their 4ths, or so I'm told.

    VRU 2014

Footscray have opened the season with 2 losses. IDK about that. Their 2nds are chalking up GOOD wins, so the depth is there, but their 1sts aren't performing.

What is to be made of PH. A big thumping by EH who, whilst competitive, look buy their loss against Moorabbin to not be world beaters. Then a close loss to Harlequins, the Premiership favourites by some margin.

    National Rugby Championship 2014

Do you know if you guys are getting access to Pat Leafa this season?

    National Rugby Championship 2014

Maybe "a couple" in the literal sense but seeing as they'll probably get 16 Rebels (the sometimes quoted number) and the amount of locals who were bumming around Sydney that are training with the Rebels in preparation for this comp, I think we'll be fine. Same goes for WA and ACT.

    National Rugby Championship 2014

Most sports are like that to varying levels though. League and Soccer have similar issues. The only 2 sports the world over who have one admin body with everything else under its heading are AFL and Crossfit. Both are growing exponentially.

    National Rugby Championship 2014

Politics my friend, politics. It's pretty simple to say "you're merging and you each get seats on a board". But, then you've got to ask who get's what number of seats and why. And all parties have to agree, not just in the short but in the LONG term. Shesh, nothing is more cantankerous...

    Rebels 2014

Not that I've heard. A google search says his surname is English in origin and most of them came over a very long time ago, though obviously there's exceptions and he's got a whole other side of the family.

    Rebels 2014

If he was money hungry the smart move would be to get 3 or 4 caps in a test season then bugger off. I doubt he's gone just yet, it's certainly not ridiculous to suggest he could be in the World Cup squad.
