Western Sydney Rams . NRC Official Team Thread

Then why's he playing in Newcastle? Nothing against the Novocastrians or their local comp but it's not the final stepping stone to a professional rugby career. Also, what's Volavola been up to this year? He looked mighty promising when he came onto the circuit.

Different kinds of wingers, Savea can't keep the ball alive like Speight.

    Melbourne Rising 2014

A good policy for me with the Rising would be to not cap any guys over 28 unless it's their 2nd season in Vic (or obviously Rebels contracted), we don't want to waste development opportunities on fly-ins.

    National Rugby Championship 2014

The question has to be asked, if the draw had been released a month ago would their be games at TG Milner? That would have been awkward.

Don't let facts get in the way! Let's hash this out.

    National Rugby Championship 2014

Mate, it's still over a month out. If your wife or kids say they need you at a social event a month out, draw or no draw I think you should go. Let's be realistic here, nobody is planning impromptu dinners with the inlaws, sleepovers, or car pools over a month before the fact.

    National Rugby Championship 2014

Other than those travelling to watch the Country team's country games (there's plenty of them on G&G, but not that many outside of that), it doesn't really matter when they release the draw.

    Waratahs 2014

Big wingers are handy for Fiji because someone has to play in the centres (yes, I mean that all literally).

Good move, I wish him luck.

    Rebels 2015

It's not the worst idea but it won't happen. His skills would transition cleanly but he'd have to completely change the way he approaches the game of rugby. It'd represent a massive risk to his livelihood in the professional era too, especially since he's a good enough centre to be offered...

    Reds v Waratahs, round 19 2014

Sam Kerevi looks good. Get him into the Wallaby 23 on the Spring Tour coming on late in the game as an impact player anywhere from 12-14.

    New Zealand Rugby Team Watch

I think the obvious selection (in time) is Carter to start at 10 and Barrett to cover 10/15 from the bench. I agree Cruden is the better 10 than Barrett (though arguably not on current form) but he hasn't played much 15.

He started when he could only play half the rugby championship in his final year. Also, how was SBW not 'inked' but Fekitoa is 'inked'?

    Waratahs 2015

Yeah, by the following WC he'll be 27 and a trip to Europe will be due anyway.

    Rebels 2015

There's an element of right to every wrong though I'm not going to argue in their fashion (or through their medium). As far as the NRC reasoning goes, it's a good one honestly. But like I said, the Force found a way to make it happen. We're in our 4th year, it just isn't acceptable. More...

    Rebels 2015

As an aside, the Force had blooded plenty more locals than we had at this stage of their development. Two of them are doing very well as starters currently (DHP and Longbottom). How have we been consistently so low on the table, and yet blooded no locals? Our local pool is arguably better than...

    Rebels 2015

Sounds like nothing. Of course he opens businesses in Brisbane because a) he probably intends to go back home when he retires and b) he probably knows more wealthy people up there to get the equity to start his cafes/restaurants. So that proves nothing. As far as performance reasons? Maybe...

Or take the Scottish job. There's always an opening in Scotland.
