    CAS Rugby 2015

Glad that you acknowledge that it's far from perfect - it is a scheduler's nightmare and it still doesn't guarantee an even competition. Just get over it - the schools are not doing rugby for your personal edification, they do it as part of their co-curricular activities to satisfy the board of...

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

Obviously you have never enjoyed the company of the Waverly old boys at Death Valley!

    The Pulverisation of Australian Rugby

It would not surprise you then that the same wallys who persist with a user pays attitude to EVERYTHING, when faced with a dramatic shortage of referees in adult rugby in Sydney, threw on (at short notice) a free Referee course. I am told that they could have filled the class room twice over...

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

I think you picked it like a nose. If NSWRU were relying on the schools delegate for a youth perspective (albeit, i believe the most recent delegate was via CHS not another system) then unfortunately he will still be largely ignorant of the day to day struggles that are clubland reality.

Continued decline in Sydney Junior Rugby

Think you'll find it's referred to as the youth delegate and I thought it was a 2 year term. I've been told that the new delegate is Geoff Ferris - the same Geoff Ferris who this site "outed" as being the brains behind the western barbarians at the recent Sydney U16 Invitational. You might...

    Refereeing decisions

If it's out - it can't be returned to the scrum. When in doubt it helps to consult the laws... law 20.9 d) All players: When the ball comes out, leave it out. When the ball has left the scrum, a player must not bring it back in to the scrum. http://www.irblaws.com/index.php?law=20.9

    Refereeing decisions

No he's not - look at law 20 again - especially definitions - everyone's role is defined. "The outside players who bind onto the second or third row are the flankers". So it stands to reason that if only the front row can hook for the ball and the flankers are defined as being in the 2nd or...

    The Pulverisation of Australian Rugby

Is it just me , or is there a delciious irony here. Clubs that went broke selling beer to rugby fans are now questioning why the ARU won't trust them with $28K?

    The Pulverisation of Australian Rugby

OK - great denial - but lets not argue about a river in Egypt. Q1 - as a beasts supporter - how many junior teams go to state champs from? Q2 - how much $$ support was provided. Q3 - how much of the ARU development grant ever filtered its way to the Juniors? (Support in kind. As to...

    The Pulverisation of Australian Rugby

The shame is they just don't support their local juniors - maybe a few hundred $$ and lending them their name etc for state championships. In the most part, juniors operate autonomously & are dependant upon their own resources to fund their activities. NSWRU have for many years tried to work...

Australian Rugby's greatest day of shame....

Think about it - they said they would reopen negotiations when? With a contract expiring in weeks and preseason ultimately not that far away either they paint Beale into a damned if you do, damned if you don't type scenario.

    Refereeing decisions

If you watch the clip carefully you will observe the AR signal touch and then take his flag down and play on – he got it right. Law 19.1(b) When a team causes the ball to be put into their own 22 . . . This applies when a defending player moves back behind the 22 metre line to take a quick...

We will never know the whole truth. To get the right answer you need to ask the right person the right question. Unfortunately in this instance only KB (Kurtley Beale) was quizzed!

Thursday we laughed cause this beast cracked the magical 5 0 pages. I went off air for Friday & the weekend - blinked as it were and here we are sprinting towards 100 with no new news... This is as bad the school scholarship pages for wasting time.

We didn't use to have to deal with this shite when we had well intentioned volunteers like the venerable "Fud" Templeton at the helm.
