    Thoughts on Folau to rugby

Nope. I'm fine with that. He's going to be gone at the end of the year, so it's not like building combinations with him is worth it. The rest of the backs will be around, with the possible exception of Folau.

Horne has been quietly excellent at 12. I definitely think it's his best position. If he keeps playing this way, he's a good injury-crisis option for the Wallabies -- although he shouldn't be close to first choice, of course.

I really do not want to see JOC (James O'Connor) at 10. His first instinct is to run and step, which he can do to devastating effect. It is not to organize the backs or to distribute. I would have him at 15 or on the right wing. He is clearly not even close to being the form Aussie 10 and he has limited test...

    Thoughts on Folau to rugby

Barnes played very well at 15 last season but he's be well down my list. Partly because he's been injured but also because we've seen a real sea change in the outside backs this season. Experience is important, but form and talent have pushed others forward. In addition, I want to see us play to...

    Reds 2014

Yeah, totally agreed with that. But I more think he hasn't set the world on fire in Super Rugby this season. Very good, but not great -- and in a season packed with exciting emerging talent in the outside backs. Value is always relative to the market. I'm a big Digby fan, so not having a go...

Bulls vs Waratahs - Super Rugby Rd11 2013

Good team. The Bulls are not fucking about.

    Reds 2014

I agree with this. He's still a class player and he makes meters and busts tackles, but he doesn't seem the same scoring threat he once was. Is he worth $800k per year? Hard to say.

Bulls vs Waratahs - Super Rugby Rd11 2013

I'd love to see Volavola get a run against a tired defense. Surely he'll see some minutes this tour.

Reds v Blues, Round 11 2013, Attack of the Attack?

Thanks for making my case for me. ;)

Reds v Blues, Round 11 2013, Attack of the Attack?

Typical Reds fan. Even when your team is playing a bunch of Kiwis, you can't help having a go at the Waratahs. That chip must be really weighing down your shoulder. :D

Horwill's STOMP and claims the Reds weren't penalised enough

It really depends on what happens in that 24 hour period, doesn't it? If SANZAR conducts detailed video analysis in that time frame it's probably enough time. If they don't pay people to work on Sundays, there's a problem.

    Wallaby wingers 2014

I sometimes think with Folau that he doesn't know what to do with huge amounts of space in front of him. He often seems to look for one of the wingers when he looks up the field and finds 20m before the opposition. This suggests he'd be great at 13. On the other hand, he is amazing under the...

Playing two 15s in the starting XV

Yes, it may be so. I had wanted Gerrard selected for the RWC. He would have been a great option in the Ireland game, for instance. I'd have taken him over Beale in that one.

Horwill's STOMP and claims the Reds weren't penalised enough

Saying it was intentional is utter supposition and, as Cyclo pointed out, beside the point. If it fits the definition of stomping, which is an act and not a state of mind, then it should have been cited. If it did and wasn't, Kev got lucky. That's it.

Playing two 15s in the starting XV

Gerrard got unlucky in that his one Wallabies appearance in 2011 was that Samoa game. Not many who got a look then received another one.

Horwill's STOMP and claims the Reds weren't penalised enough

Kev's isn't that powerful yet. If he levels up enough, he'll get one that covers offside, joining from the side, and hands in the ruck.

Reds v Blues, Round 11 2013, Attack of the Attack?

The other view is that penalties can put a team on the back foot and increase the chance to score tries later in the game.

Horwill's STOMP and claims the Reds weren't penalised enough

Or the fact that it was the Wallabies captain. ;) But most likely, Kev just got lucky.

We don't have many big match players. Also, our coach sucks. Oh, and the All Blacks are really fucking good.

I don't agree with the latter and don't think the former matters at all for a 3 match series.
