    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

I'm not sure how selecting Quade makes it harder to run big centres through our back line. Nor is it clear to me why the Pulveriser is responsible for Robbie's selections. But I do think there is a chance that Quade makes the final squad.

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

Scott, surely they'll need a back-up for Palu. Or do you anticipate Higgers to 8 and Hooper to 6?

One more prop (Palmer?) in place of Tapuai would be my guess.

    Confusion at the ARU?!?!?!?!?!

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

I suppose Kepu is a known quantity at test level. Palmer lost form and got hurt at the worst possible time, while Sio and Ryan were probably deemed too green. I absolutely agree with you on Dennis. I think he's a fringe international player, but a great Super one when firing.

White and Burgess are both superior to Phipps. I'd be fine with whichever one is selected. They'll only play if Genia is hurt anyway.

At least for the first test, yes.

    Wallabies 31 Man Squad

Surprises: Timani over Douglas, Dennis at all, no back-up 9, Pat McCabe not selected despite still drawing breath. Not surprises: no Cooper.

    Deans appointed coach for life?

Just announce the damn squad already. I hate these leaks and dribbles of information.

Waratahs vs Brumbies RD 14 Saturday 18th May

I don't have an issue with their tactics as such. It doesn't make for great rugby all the time, but a good reffing team should be able to keep the game flowing. Last night Walsh did a good job but was let down by his ARs who failed to police the offside line.

Waratahs vs Brumbies RD 14 Saturday 18th May

I don't think either won, really. Smith was better attacking the ball, Hooper was better running and linking.

    Wallabies Watch

Yeah, Horne has only been good at 12 for the last 8 or 9 games, while Ant played well there last week. I'd take Lilo most days of the week, but Ant Fainga'a hasn't played enough 12 to be mentioned, let alone selected.

The surprise there is that anyone thinks Nic White should start.

    Wallabies Watch

Hard to say. Both were quiet and I think both teams tried to neutralize the impact of the other. Folau busted a few tackles and punted a few good ones, while Mogg had a great run and kicked at goal well after Lilo went off.

WTF?!? Horne was probably our best back at the half. Good runs, great in defense, busted tackles and even threw some passes.

Finally, a QLDers who gets it.

Where to for quality Rugby journalism???

I actually think the rugby coverage at the SMH has gotten better in the last two years. I don't miss Grumbles and I think Georgina Robinson does an able job with the bread and butter stuff that, as barbarian pointed out, is at the core of sports coverage. Paul Cully is an excellent analyst and...

No. It would have thrown up its hands in despair and gone for a stiff drink.
