SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) Round 1 25/02/23 Force v Rebels

How often do you see a professional team who's captain is also playing their first game for the club? (not including pre-season matches)

Super Rugby Rd 1: Waratahs vs Brumbies Friday, 24th February

That's a naughty bench. Keep an eye on Van Nek, he's a monster scrummager (MOTM in the Hospital Cup final for Easts a few years ago by basically scrumming UQ off the park). Have no idea why the Reds never tried to sign him but he has a huge future.

    Waratahs 2023

I like this from the Waratahs. Playing to their strengths in the backrow with both Gamble and Harris on the bench. Edmed, Jorgensen, Perese & Donaldson gives you enough versatility to play a 6-2 bench. Should be a cracker of a match.

    Super Rugby 2023 Rd 1 - Reds v Hurricanes

Phenomenal player. My pick would be Henry at 12, Paisami at 13 and Flook on the wing at 11. Although as you said we'll inevitably have injuries but I feel like Henry will get a lot of game-time this year.

    Reds 2023

Just googled him, apparently he's a centre. Imagine he'll follow the same path as Lynagh and be slowly eased in over the next few years but he'll have stiff competition behind Henry, Flook, Paisami, Petaia and potentially Annan.

    Reds 2023

My team for round 1 considering current injuries. is O'Connor isn't fit then Creighton to start and Lynagh on the bench. I'd have Vunivalu at 23 but if he isn't fit then either Grealy or Daugunu comes in at 23. Other than that the team pretty much picks itself. 1. Peni Ravai 2. Matt Faesslar 3...

    Reds 2023

This. I feel like Wright often flies under the radar especially when compared to the entertaining style of McReight, Wilson and Uru, but having him fit and firing at 6 is a huge plus. His set-piece and breakdown work is phenomenal but I think his best trait is just his general rugby smarts. He...

Super Rugby Pre-Season Trial: Waratahs v Reds

Yeah tighthead is a worry so you might be right about Fa'agase, in which case Zander will play a lot of the season at 17 and I'll be wrong about him being 3rd choice. Either way, just an opinion.

Super Rugby Pre-Season Trial: Waratahs v Reds

I think Zander is a good player but he's the odd man out in that squad, unless they plan on playing 3 looseheads. You can have extra backrowers and wingers on an extended bench but a 5th prop doesn't really work imo. No doubt he'll get gametime this year but currently I have him behind Ravai and...

Super Rugby Pre-Season Trial: Waratahs v Reds

Considering the injuries and the fact that Vunivalu is meant to be on the bench this is the team I'd be selecting: 1. Peni Ravai* 2. Matt Faessler* 3. Zane Nongorr* 4. Seru Uru* 5. Ryan Smith 6. Liam Wright* 7. Fraser McReight 8. Harry Wilson* 9. Tate McDermott* 10. Lawson Creighton* 11. Filipo...

How long is Tupou actually out for?

Wallabies v Wales, Principality Stadium, Sun 27th November, 2.15am AEST

Not saying he would be ahead of Rodda or Arnold but it's worth taking a look at the form he's in for Northampton. He's easily been a top 3 Lock in the Premiership this season.

    Wallabies 2023

    So after the year I think our best XV is pretty clear, except for a few positions. 1. Slipper 2. ? 3. Ala'alatoa 4. Frost 5. ? 6. Holloway 7. Hooper 8. Valetini 9. White 10. Cooper 11. Korobeite 12. Kerevi 13. Ikitau 14. Nawaqanitawase 15. ? 16. ? 17. Bell 18. Tupou (if fit) 19. ? 20. Samu...

They are but Porter isn’t a renowned scrummager. He more than makes up for it with his work around the park though.

    Wallabies 2023

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned already, but with the form that LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) is in at Northampton I think we should really be considering him as an international pick for the world cup. He's easily been in the top 3 players in the prem so far this season. Ideally the cap on international players will...
