    Bledisloe 1: 29 July @ MCG

I don't understand why Marika gets an instant card, but the ABs committed about 5 penalties inside their 10 meters and they get nothing. A penalty should be a penalty. It's preventing attack.

I don't know how that wasn't collapsing the maul by NZ

Gordon's flaws seem fixable. But they need to get fixed fast!

I think it is like putting in golf. It shouldn't be that hard, but there's a ton of pressure and it has to be 99% correct to come off. If you have any indecision or doubt you get the yips and then it all goes to hell.

    Wallabies 2023

We won't know what exactly Eddie is planning until the RWC squad is finalized. Guys like Samu, Hodge and Wright might be taking a few games off because he knows what he has with them - for better or worse - but could still be in the final team depending on how others fare in the...

    Wallabies 2023

The only issue is that Kerevi looked horrific at #13 and should theoretically be (if fit) the better 12 between him/Carter. So if you select Carter at #12 you also have to consider benching Kerevi. I agree with your sentiment though and it is too bad Carter hasn't played 15 or 13 enough to jump...

    Wallabies 2023

They lost 9 tests last year Context matters. First off, they also beat South Africa, Argentina, Scotland, Wales and England. Second, they were beset with injuries and lack of availability of key players due to being overseas. Third, they would have beaten NZ if not for the Reynauld...

I agree, but Rennie had them firing about as well as possible so it made no sense that they canned him.

    Wallabies v Argentina @ CommBank Stadium 7.45pm Sat 15/07

To my eye most of the defensive issues in the backline were caused by Kerevi being way off the pace and playing out of position at 13. Which he acknowledged post-game. I think Carter would have been better at 13 on defense, but he's probably never played there.

    Wallabies v Argentina @ CommBank Stadium 7.45pm Sat 15/07

There are probably 100 such penalties that occur during the game. But the TMO only has time to look for them if someone lays on the floor. So you now see players pretending to be injured all over the place in a close game. It's pathetic. The women's rugby has ZERO of this. They play rugby...

Most of the errors are fixable, like bad discipline. Also seemed like the offensive systems are not well embedded. That can improve. They looked good at set piece. I thought man for man the players didn't look terrible. Far less than the sum of their parts.

    Wallabies v Argentina @ CommBank Stadium 7.45pm Sat 15/07

Thoughts: - Fire Wright into outer space. "If you don't know me by now, you'll never, never, ever know me." We know you mate. - Kerevi looked way off the pace, but not surprising given he's been injured. Hope Ikitau is OK. - They need post match penalties for fake injuries/diving. They do this...

That one was a total mystery. The announcers couldn't and I rewinded many times and saw nothing.

These reviews make no fucking sense. If you lay down you get a review. If you don't, no review.

How is there not a fullback in all of Australia that can't just do the basics of the position?

Australia A - Back on the Cards

They are playing in front of a home crowd in an exhibition match that means nothing. They wanted to entertain the crowd. If you are also considering that the point of the match is to practice things, you get more practice from a lineout/maul than kicking the ball away.

    Wallabies 2023

We've long past the days where the nine can select on their own, willy nilly, whether to pass or kick. They make that decision at times, but the overall preference has been passed down to them by the coaches. If White disregarded that he'd be pulled from the lineup and they'd replace him with a...

Australia A - Back on the Cards

My impression was that both Swinton and the Tongan got matching yellow cards, but another Australian was penalized for being the third man in? I swear the referee said that. The reserve scrummie was a game changer. Swinton, Wilson, Hanigan were impactful in the forwards. Some errors by Foley...

Australia A - Back on the Cards

While I'd like to blame the players, it also looks like a team that has no idea how they are supposed to be playing rugby. Everyone seems totally unsure of themselves. Given how many veterans are in the squad that seems unusual. They look like an unusually fit/athletic local club side. Massive...

I can't see his thought process on that one either. Maybe it was to throw Vunivalu a bone and see if he could step up? Basically a challenge. Challenge not accepted apparently.
