Bit silly that the touch judge can overule a breakdown penalty. You’d think the bloke closest to the action would make the right call, which he did and was then given the wrong call. Ridiculous.

Hurricanes backs more damaging at the end of the day. The Reds had their chances, the referee didn’t cost them the game, simply took the edge off of what was shaping to be a closer contest. I think the Hegarty kick out on the full was the end of any chance of the Reds going on with it.

This was a good contest that was well and truly ruined by overzealous officiating.

I like the rule in negating negative knock downs in a pass but in that situation you’re punishing Hegarty for making a play on the ball. Yet it’s perfectly legal to kick the ball out of the halfbacks hands when he’s passing from the back of the scrum. Gotta sort some of these stupid rules out...

Shocking kick from Hegarty but why are we even kicking it in that situation.

You’d have to think Moore would be a great influence on a very talented young side. Hopefully keep the younger guys grounded and ensure they don’t get too ahead of themselves after such a great season so far.

Have to agree with you there. Has Floyd Aubrey made much of an impact in the GPS Colts team? Watched him play for Ashgrove and was one of the better products in recent years out of the AIC comp.

Stan has been great, their promotion of Super Rugby AU at the beginning of the season in particular was the most I’ve seen any kind of rugby in Australia for some time. Turn around on highlights of club games & rainbow cup slowing down since the tennis has started would be my only genuine criticism.

How good is afternoon footy. Would have thought it would lead to more ball in hand but a very drops early and both teams kicking a fair bit.

I don’t encourage any kind of violence but I’d say if the report is correct then it’s more of a Brothers issue, I think a large majority of people would step in if a touch judge attacked any player, let alone a female player.
