Lee - yes, maybe I am confused with league. Touching a ball carrier on the ground in league is definitely considered enough for a tackle.

The Reds lost the game for themselves, the ref didn't lose it for them. They blew a winning lead by silly play and weak forward play in the second half. That period of Sharks dominance won it for the Sharks and lost it for the Reds.

Even subbies teams are taught to lift on the inside leg. Front guy holds inside leg just above the knee, back guy cups and supports the buttocks. Legal and efficient, assuming the jumper can jump correctly and stay stiff.
