    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

Thanks Dan, am I right in saying then that you think Super Rugby will survive in some format after the current deal finishes in 2020?

Wallabies v Springboks Saturday 9th Sept NIB Stadium

I gather that Naisarani won't be Wallaby eligible until late next year, somewhere around November I think I saw. That being the case, we will desperately need Holloway, or another legitimate No 8, to make the grade earlier in the year. I, for one, would like to see the Hooper/Pocock combination...

And that certainly lit up a bonfire didn't it? Simmons found difficulty then getting a start at the Reds and Was jettisoned by the Reds before the end of the season. Spent quite a few weeks in limbo before the lifebuoy was thrown out by the Tahs. And at no stage since he lost his Wallabies' spot...

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

Dan and Zero, are you saying there's nothing in it for NZ full stop? Or in the remaining years of Super Rugby? I see that Steve Tew has only ruled out participation for the remaining Super Rugby years so far. And that's fine, even the ARU are in much the same boat - the four remaining franchises will...

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

Reg, I can see Super Rugby moving to Feb-June timeslot, as it has already been agreed to start 2019? But why allocate three months entirely for tests? An inbound tour only needs 4 weeks or thereabouts. Would it then immediately flow into the RC? I'd think the NRC in July - September would fit nicely...

    The Wallabies Thread

Cheikas selections since the 2015 RWC have been confounding in a lot of respects. NB highlights a few, but he could also have mentioned the musical chairs that the second row has been subjected to over the past couple of years. He has a particular obstinate streak in him regarding some positions...

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

Plenty of Super Rugby players available at that time of year. The question stands.

    Rebels 2018

Never been a fan. I think his type of experience a top notch side can do without.

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

Is that where the current overseas based players are earmarked? And if there are significant numbers of Wallaby and Super players suddenly available, it would seem that many will be absorbed into those teams for the 4 months as well, as the Perth side will probably be filled with Force players.

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

Will Forrest backing the NRC ensure the Spirit remain in the competition, even if rebadged as the Force?

Wallabies v Springboks Saturday 9th Sept NIB Stadium

Sorry to say but Sean McMahon was quite ordinary against the Saffas. He doesn't stop, that I'll give him, but it was like he hit a brick wall every time he tried to run the ball. He plays way above his weight at Super level, but is not a test No 8.

    Refereeing decisions

I'd say never these days. The ball can be at the back foot and even behind it but so long as the No 9 has his hands on it and hasn't picked it up, then most refs will penalise anyone coming through to play either the ball or the No 9.

Wallabies v Pumas, GIO Stadium, Canberra, Sat 16th September

Tui may in time be groomed for the No 6 spot, but can't see him playing this weekend, nor in the remainder of the RC. I would be more than happy for Matt Philip to be brought in, but he apparently doesn't have Cheika's eye atm. So, we will go with another undersized and unbalanced backrow and...

Wallabies v Springboks Saturday 9th Sept NIB Stadium

Perfect practice makes perfect execution, or at least pushes in that direction. Is he missing the right sort of, or right amount of practice at his craft?

Wallabies v Springboks Saturday 9th Sept NIB Stadium

Hawko, you are so right about the way we view props. Your call for Slipper's return reminds me that he was seriously out of form for quite a while before he elected to get his injuries right. I see Sio as being in the same boat. He had a bad year last year with injuries and just look at the...

Uelese well and truly in front of Latu then.

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

Apparently, there is nothing to worry about - Rob Clarke is back. (And who of the organisations he has spent time with in Super Rugby would begrudge you that?).

There is an option now to beef up the Wallaby back row. #mattphilipforWallaby No6.

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

So, there's a bit of talk now about bringing the o/s Aussie players back. Could they form the secretive International team that Forrest is talking about?

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

Wamb, with stringent attitudes like yours, you could easily end up with a whole lot of egg on the face if the two sides do manage to work together. Actually, that might not be such a bad thing.
