A Proposal For A New Third Tier Competition In Australia

It just comes across as a piecemeal attempt at some sort of solution. It feels cheap in its presentation thus far. I know I may be coming off as overly critical by I really do want a solution to this issue and I just don't this as it.

A Proposal For A New Third Tier Competition In Australia

The problem is as it stands and from what I can gather from the interview, just getting the Super Rugby teams to run curtain raiser's is just too narrow. What happens when teams are abroad? How many times will they play each other? etc. too many questions and not enough answers. If you had really...

A Proposal For A New Third Tier Competition In Australia

That's what I was thinking watching the interview. Cannot see how it would generate any real interest even among Rugby die hard's let alone the casual observer.

A Proposal For A New Third Tier Competition In Australia

Yeah, would make more sense to run it in the same window as the ITM Cup certainly more so than just curtain raisers. If Pulver wants to trial new laws he still could but setting it up as a representative competition in its own right would give it more meaning and a better chance of generating...

    Waratahs 2013

That's it. I'm expecting a more polished effort this week and very good play in the weeks coming.

    Waratahs 2013

If there was a cheering and applauding smiley you would see a whole row of them across the message right now. It's something that really bugs me. Being professional footballer's they should have these skills well and truly mastered.

A Proposal For A New Third Tier Competition In Australia

I think that the above would be a better alternative. Hell, as I mentioned in the Club Championship thread I would support Andrew. B. Cox's idea. Would be a better option than what I see Pulver proposing.

A Proposal For A New Third Tier Competition In Australia

Just watched and I have the feeling that it will end up being a bit half arsed to be brutally honest. I want it to work, I want to believe it will, but, I just cannot see Pulvers concept really generating any real interest be it from fans, sponsors or broadcasters. The only way it might work...

Choose 4 clubs would you include in a national comp

I think your take on the concept seems the fairest split and would go a long way to involving more stake holders in the game.

    Can you provide a link?

    Shute Shield 2013

To answer your question Randwick. It would be silly if it competed with Super Rugby which already overlaps with much of club Rugby. It should be after club Rugby yet during the Rugby Championship to provide Australian Rugby with an active competition to maintain enough depth if needed for the...

    Shute Shield 2013

I think you vastly underestimate the interest in a third tier competition that exists in the general Rugby public that don't have ties with a Sydney or Brisbane club. I'd say that would be the majority of fans. There is a sentiment among many of them that the ARC a step in the right direction...

    Shute Shield 2013

Some very interesting thoughts to take on and digest. To use the SS as the base for a Third Tier we will need to recognise that some rationalisation must occur. How popular that would be is fairly self evident. Many current clubmen would need to fall back into subbies (still play for the club...

    Waratahs 2013

On the Tahs website it says they have just over 12,500 members. Bit surprising actually as I expected that to be a lot less.

He's raw at that level and very much a work in progress. He'll be better for the experience. A project for Cheika to work on.

    Western Force 2013

Good. Let's hope he takes that form into this weekend and beyond.

    Waratahs 2013

Seems to be good management on behalf of Cheika if you ask me. He's resting his two most likely options for starting 10 while giving a very talented young 10 in Volavola a shot to prove himself and taste the levels he needs to aspire to in order to successfully compete. Both Barnes and Foley...

    Western Force 2013

Alcock actually has a very strong running game. He breaks a great many tackles you wouldn't expect him to. A bit like Hooper in that way. His pilfer work is generally good as well, not to quite the standard of Pocock but he'll compliment Hodgeson nicely and if they get on together will cause...

A Proposal For A New Third Tier Competition In Australia

I agree players from outside the Sydney competition would need to be involved. That's why on top of the four Sydney rep teams you bring in close by country regions and allow the Force and Rebels to use them their proxies in the competition alongside a Brumby Runners setup. Over time as it finds...

    Western Force 2013

Or, he could just to the Force a favour and stay in Japan.
