    Brumbies 2012

Not being a naysayer; just being a pragmatist. It's very hard for a team to find replacements in so many positions when they do not have a strong, settled core. The Brumbies of yesteryear could do so, especially in the backs where the Gregan-Larkham-Roff (and Giteau for a time as well) nexus...

    Brumbies 2012

Not so sure you guys should by hyping some of the Brumbies' signings as of yet. Give them some chance to perform first - the press releases from the Brumbies is standard for the fringe players brought in in the hope they could be the next big thing - the Reds did this a lot during their lean...

    Men behaving badly

If I was the coach, I'd come out in support in public, but push for some sort of alcohol counselling in private. It would be interesting to know what Link did.

Wallabies vs Wales, Sunday Dec 4

Lee - I was reminded a bit of Ron Cribb's tackle on Joe Roff which was given as a penalty try, but that was much more clear cut, as opposed to J'OCs (mainly because Roff had clearly already toed ahead the ball prior to the tackle, and obviously had Cribb for pace). I had some small doubt at...

    Brumbies 2012

Well, Moore was the U21 captain, and was ear marked for the Reds captaincy before his falling out with a certain forwards coach at the Reds and subsequent departure to the Brumbies. But the management staff at the Brumbies may have other opinsion.

    Brumbies 2012

Sort of. Teams are allowed two foreign players - one can be "marquee", e.g. a player who has played test rugby for another country, and the second "developmental", i.e. they must be able to qualify to play for Australia if they become a resident after 3 years. I guess there's no reason why...

    Wallabies vs Barbarians

While I mention Horne's defence, the other guy I thought messed up a bit was Digby - thought he manned up incorrectly a few times and left a hole on his inside. Both had good games on attack, but on defence I thought both made a couple of errors.

    Wallabies vs Barbarians

Firstly, are we bothering to do 3-2-1s for this game? Secondly... No, it wasn't. Horne had a good game (and he looked promising), but was let down by his missed tackles. He fell off quite a few that he should have stuck on to, from my memory.

    Super Rugby Membership Watch

What about the membership packages that don't include season tickets? e.g. the Reds one is $85, what about the others?

    Brumbies 2012

The lucky part is that it is probably the best position for the Brumbies to lose a frontline player in - number 8 is the position that the Brumbies have the most quality depth in. Sad for Hoiles, though. Not my favourite player or my type of number 8, but he was a good servant for the Brumbies...

Lions V Barbarians, Hong Kong, 2013

The teams for the first test: http://my.rugby.com.au/news/2001_june/wallabies_and_lions_name_sides_11578,4190.html/news/archive/section/21893 That was a fantastic Lions pack. There were missing Dayglo though, who was carrying an injury into the tour. And I'm done for now. Was interesting...

Lions V Barbarians, Hong Kong, 2013

Because I am currently obsessed with my memory of the 2001 Lions tour, I am dumping all this stuff here. Lions v WA, 2001: http://my.rugby.com.au/news/2001_june/lions_name_side_for_first_match_11354,4445.html/news/archive/section/21893 (team)...

Lions V Barbarians, Hong Kong, 2013

The silly B&I Lions page is wrong, it was 41 - 21, and 24 - 5 at half time. I think the Tahs got back into mid-way through the second half, but then got shut out. http://www.lionsrugby.com/history/593.php?section=report&fixid=58552 Notable for the massive fight with McRae wailing on a...

Found some results: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2001_British_and_Irish_Lions_tour_to_Australia http://www.lions-tour.com/the_lions/tourdetails.asp?id=26 Would still love to see team sheets from the games. Anyone got any idea?

Lions V Barbarians, Hong Kong, 2013

You are quite right - they were the last lead up game, the Reds were the first. Was I thinking of the other NSW mid-week game against some scratch team, or of the Australia A game? Damn my flakey memory, not a good day for it! The Tahs went a little better than the Reds, if I remember...

    Waratahs 2012

Yeah, that game from the Tahs showed that if you dominate the rucks by some margin, you dominate the game. The Reds forwards were comprehensively outplayed in that game, helped partly by Link's experiment of Quirk at 7 and Horwill at 6 which he gave up on soon after. The other thing was the...

Lions V Barbarians, Hong Kong, 2013

So there would be 5 games of the full strength side - the Hongkers Baabaas game, a warm up, and three tests. The remaining 5 games - 3 mid-week games for the 3 tests, a warm up and another around the Baabaas game would be the dirt trackers? I am going my on memory from previous tours. I...

    Waratahs 2012

Yup. I thought that Lachlan McCutcheon was a better play before he was a bit more developed back then, but Pat always had more potential. But someone who remembers how the brothers played back in 2007/8 might be able to correct me. Can anyone remember who played more for Sydney Fleet - Lachlan...

    Waratahs 2012

I don't get it. The article you linked to was about the Chiefs in 2010 in the regular season. What's that got to do with the last Tahs' final in Christchurch in 2008? Pat McCutcheon wasn't around then, but his older brother was, hence why I tried to correct you. The Tahs played a final in...
