    G&GR Fantasy Rugby Competition 2012

Here's what I currently have. Not long left, so it'll probably stay. $150k left over, but a weak bench.

    Waratahs 2012

Oops, forgot to post a reply to this last night. Three players: Turner, Mitchell, and Beale. Oops.

    Waratahs 2012

Now we just need to get the Tahs to redo their 2012 ad on FoxSports. Can anyone pick the three players who they showed scoring tries from 2011? (Here's a hint: you are unlikely to see any of them in a Tahs jersey in 2012.)

Be careful of players like Beau Robinson, because he'll likely be subbed by early for Gill. It's been doing my head in, trying to work out which props will go the full 80. Alexander will, but of the other likely top scorers, no idea. Crusaders, Tahs and Reds, at least, can all sub either the...

    Waratahs vs Reds - Round 1 - 2012R01

Lee, don't forget Trist - on the bench and in the EPS. He was outside the 35 as well?

And to get three posts in a row, if I remember correctly Masaga was really up and down on his scoring. Would score a heap one week and not so much the next. Outside Money Bill and Kahui, though, I reckon he'll generally go well as both can set up their outside men.

I also took a gamble on Nick White as my reserve half back, was OK at $125k.

swat; reckon I'd blow some of your money on backrowers more likely to score points too, like Thomson, Vito/Lam, Minnie, etc. (Minnie is a bargain considering the points he pulled last season in a few games.) Not sure on Jamie Mac either under the new scoring system, thinking Slipper or...

The Tahs also have no lock reserve. Guess Dennis will be it, unless L. Timani can sub as a lock in an emergency? Some Tahs players missing that would probably otherwise be in the 22 named: Vickerman, S. Timani, Elsom, McCutcheon Barnes, Mitchell, Turner, Pakalani Did I miss any?

    Waratahs vs Reds - Round 1 - 2012R01

No Quirk is probably the only surprise for the Reds, guess he didn't impress enough in the trials to force Samo to lock reserve instead of Van the roller. Doesn't look as strong as last year, but on paper looks better than the severely weakened Tahs who are already injury riddled.

Really tempted by Habana, seeing as he's at 13. But I don't know who I'd replace out of Ioane, Lambie and Ranger. Thinking Ranger, as he's a huge scored, but really up and down...and I am not sure that Ranger will score as well from 13 as he seemed to from the wing.

Oh, and wish I got on the Reds at $2.32 now. :(

Moses; exactly why rugby fans go to games. Almost up there with Jessica Mauboy last year. edit: Sorry Baabaa! Meant Barbarian. Honestly. You mods just look all alike.

Oh, and if you're desperate for 75k starters, check the Brumbies.

    Brumbies V Force Round 1 - 2012R01

Gee that's a weak Force bench. If it comes to down to end game, the Brumbies have a better bench.

Who will be the Lions and Cheetahs kickers?

    Watching Super Rugby On-Line

What's particularly outrageous is then even putting Championship soccer from the UK (that is, not even the Premiership!) after the A-League, instead of showing the Tahs v Reds delayed. I would be shocked if their isn't a soccer fan currently setting the schedule there.

    Brumbies V Force Round 1 - 2012R01

Yeah, that Brumbies backline does look more dangerous to me as well, and it looks like it has a bit more spark, but the difference is not huge. The bigger question is if the Brumbies forwards will do enough for their advantage in the back to mean something. With that Brumbies starting pack, I...

    Blues v Crusaders Round 1 (2012)

Well, my starting Blues team was at least pretty close, just swap Lowery and Kaino. Blues bench is interesting. Why Bradley Mika? And who is Parkes?
