    National Rugby Championship 2015

Just checked it out. The stream is good quality. One camera but strong feed and good commentary. Access seems pretty good if the FFA Cup is anything to go by. A step forward.

    National Rugby Championship 2015

So, the issue of streaming was addressed in Brett McKay's article on The Roar. Evidently we'll know more next week. Will be via Fox Sports and consistent to the quality of the FFA Cup in both quality and access. Anyone know what's that like? Anyway, also hinted at a possible Monday review...

Just read about it in Brett McKay's article on The Roar. Well done.

    National Rugby Championship 2015

First of all, well done Reds. Setting the standard for coverage of the NRC. Second, no word as yet which isn't filling me with confidence. This frankly ridiculous. We're a little over a week from kick off and no word on streaming. The ARU needs to get its act together on this. The NRC should...

Canberra Vikings - Offical NRC Team Thread

Rams are offering $40 season passes. You get a cap plus meet the players, team news, clinic invites. I'd consider it but I'll like only get to two games this season and entry is only $15 dollars.

    Rugby TV ratings 2015

True, but (and I'll try to find the article) it was reported a while ago that it was the games involving the NZ and Aus franchises that held the most appeal. While I doubt it will ever happen, going the trans-tasman route could be a case of short term pain for long term gain. If the product is...

You're one of those people others avoid at parties. You know the kind of person that just drags the energy out of the conversation. Neither I or others that have commented on this topic are in denial. We're aware of the current situation. However, at least from my perspective I choose not to...

Oh well, I guess there's no stopping the inevitable. We should just lie down and die. Not look for alternatives or solutions just give up. You're onto the idea. Doom gloom, the end is nigh blah, blah, blah.

Sydney Stars . NRC Official Team Thread

If that's there motive behind it then they're towing a precarious line. I've said previously that NSW are probably running with a team too many. As I cannot see the one club model working they may be the prime candidate for the chop.

Are you talking about the ARU deal or the NRL?
  12. WorkingClassRugger

    Rugby TV ratings 2015

The fall off in ratings and crowds isn't a dirty little secret. The League media have been highlighting it for some time. As for the deal. The article noted games from Thursday through Sunday. I'd also like to see if 9 will continue their current split games on Friday. So essentially anywhere...

    Rugby TV ratings 2015

Exactly. While that figure looks impressive it has to be split at least 16 different ways. I think we'll find that the cash and advertising split would be similar to before. Ratings and crowds outside of Origin haven't been good since the signing of the last deal. It'll actually be interesting...

    Rugby TV ratings 2015

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the ARU paid in USD? If so, then is the article quoting the USD amount or its converted AUD? Because if it's the unconverted USD amount then it's more along the lines of $52m a year or something along those lines.

That graph pretty much reflect my viewing trends. In fact, I probably lean more toward toward the 18-24 range than the 25-34. I only watch TV for the Rugby these days.

    National Rugby Championship 2015

Truth be told, NSW is over subscribed by at least one team. What really should have happened was a reboot of the original ARC squads. Ideally two run by the Waratahs and one independent. What this situation really highlights is the disparity issues in the feeder competition in Sydney. This...

Canberra Vikings - Offical NRC Team Thread

Sending someone to the ITM Cup isn't exactly hiding them away out of view. The facts are even if he stayed in Canberra and played with the Vikings that doesn't guarantee he still wouldn't be approached.

    Pacific Nations Cup

If go as far as to say from the three games I watched involving the Eagles it was this pairing that really stunted any attacking ability of the Eagles backline. Palamo for his size is largely ineffective going into contact and Kelly is a poor distributor. Against Japan he had time and space to...

Canberra Vikings - Offical NRC Team Thread

It does make sense from a development perspective. The ITM Cup is a long established competition of high quality. Totally understandable especially as the NRC is still in its relative infancy. We both seem to be in agreement on why he should stay.

Canberra Vikings - Offical NRC Team Thread

I'm sure that if they had shopped him around they would have had takers. You just have to ask why that didn't occur to them first instead of trying to ship him off to the ITM Cup.
