Wallabies v USA Eagles, 5th September, Soldier Field, Chicago

I'm sorry. I really am but I couldn't help but chuckle at that. Not at the Eagles getting pumped but more that we both know that the pairing will be Palamo and Kelly. Which actually is a massive shame. Guess Scully and Co. Won't be seeing much ball.

    The League Media

That's because most people are able to recognise whether being able to play a sport or not was the least of people's issues back then. In the grand scheme of WW2 this argument and its legacy are insignificant.

    Perth Spirit News

Never said they should send them back. Just highlighting that if all the developed talent were available to the NSW teams they'd be a great deal stronger.

I think he will. I just don't know if it will be as a first stringer.

He has good footwork so that should help mask that. Should be interesting to see where he ends up. Not sure he's suited to the halfback role. Perhaps fullback.

    The League Media

Appropriated their name. Are you kidding me? It also shows an alarming ignorance of the Rugby landscape in the US. Northern California in which the Bay area forms its epicentre is one of the strongest Rugby areas in the country. If Mascord by chance frequents this forum (wouldn't surprise...

    The League Media

Rugby League was a professional sport. The Vichy banned professional sports. I'm not defending Rugby but those arguing from the League perspective like to sell it like they were the only sport to receive that treatment. They were not. I find it odd that many whinge about assets being seized...

    The League Media

I love the Vichy/Nazi argument. A perfect example of cherrypicking facts for the sake of a whinge. It overlooks that the Nazi's banned Rugby in Germany and that the Vichy issued a blanket ban on all professional sports in France not just League. I only skimmed the article but I get the...

    National Rugby Championship 2015

Perhaps the intern is only able to focus on the one competition at a time. Must be a bloke.

    National Rugby Championship 2015

I'd have to question exactly how many of those blokes you are referring to that are currently running around in the Shute Shield. What could be done if the NRC XV proves too strong they could introduce a curtain raiser game with Australian Subbies Selects vs Heartland XV.

    National Rugby Championship 2015

They've been posting a bit about it on their Facebook page as well.

    National Rugby Championship 2015

Why? If they're not contracted then regardless of their previous playing history they should be eligible. As for the club players. They would be the un-contracted players eligible, wouldn't they?

    National Rugby Championship 2015

Green and gold hoops. Seems pretty simple.

    National Rugby Championship 2015

Extra incentive to perform for the non-contracted blokes. A further opportunity to show off their wares.

    Perth Spirit News

I'm not against talent taking opportunities offered. I just find it a little disingenuous of some to highlight the lack of competitiveness of the NSW squads with a number of NSW (and QLD) developed talent forming the spine of their squads. If it were based on where you played your club Rugby...

    Perth Spirit News

Spread over 4 squads. What were the averages for the Rising, Vikings, Spirit last season? Qld Country wouldn't have posted outstanding crowd figures. While I agree, the crowds were disappointing not helped by poor marketing among other things. I would wager that if there one only one or two NSW...

    Perth Spirit News

I'm not just referring to strictly NRC. Luke Jones, Tom English, Jack Debreszeni etc. a number of others. All from NSW. I'm not against guys playing for their Super Rugby affiliated NRC squad and again I tend to think NSW has one too many squads but I think some overlook that a good deal of the talent...

    Perth Spirit News

Umm...look at many of the Super Rugby players who will be filling say the Risings roster and you'll notice that quite a number are from NSW. That was more the point I was making.

    Perth Spirit News

While I subscribe to the thinking that NSW may be over sunscribed by a team. I think it should be noted that if all the NSW developed talent that's padding out a number of the other squads had returned there wouldn't be a competitiveness issue.

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

while the JGC is about opportunity as much as competition I think a more competitive U17s will do a lot more for their development than keeping all the current centres going. If we ever a u19s/20s age group they should take it further to effectively mimic the NRC. A pyramid with a wider base...
