    Reds 2017

I reckon you'll be waiting until next year's financial statement

    Reds 2017

That's the issue though isn't it? If the backline/attack is the problem, how do you evaluate the suitability of a guy who's been a defensive assistant for his entire career?

    Reds v Sunwolves, Round 13, 21 May 2016

3rd win at home in a row. Making a bit of a statement there. Hopefully the team can keep up the momentum against the chiefs in the next game at Suncorp in the distant future

    Rugby TV Ratings 2016

Crusaders v Waratahs - 90k. Highest rating for a while

    Reds v Sunwolves, Round 13, 21 May 2016

19,000 crowd pretty good for the Reds these days, especially on a Saturday arvo and against the sunwolves

How is Gomaru is still on the field after consecutive shoulder charges?
  8. Strewthcobber

    Reds 2017

His name has certainly started appearing in the forums over the last week or so. I do wonder what an assistant coach of a Scottish Pro12 side offers above one of the current guys (who haven't shown enough to get it either). At least MOC has some head coach experience.

Jarryd Hayne signs with Fiji Sevens

    7 is closer to 13 than 15?

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

As widely expected Netball have announced their new 8 team oz-only comp and broadcast deal with nine. Two live games on Saturday night, plays inrernationals, finals etc. Telstra will also be streaming games. Lots of partnerships with NRL and AFL clubs No details yet on which channel nine will...

Jarryd Hayne signs with Fiji Sevens

Let's put some context to this though, the Fiji coach didn't get paid for much of the last year because they literally didn't have the money. If they have to drop their 12th best player to ensure the continued financial viability of the sport in their country, and include instead someone with...

Jarryd Hayne signs with Fiji Sevens

Australia v Fiji is on at 3:54am Other Fiji games are 10pm and 1 am Once again the timezone will kill those ratings

Jarryd Hayne signs with Fiji Sevens

Alternatively, the actual current coach may not have been as welcoming. (And fair enough to - he doesn't need the distraction) Got any quotes from anyone in the current setup?

Lancaster also coached his team to dead last in the Guinness Premiership so there's a bit of a recurring theme of failure

    Los Jaguares 2016

Senatore gets 10 weeks for biting, but this statement shows once again how broken the process is at the moment

Jarryd Hayne signs with Fiji Sevens

World Rugby confirm that he will be eligible to play in London and the Olympics in Rio if selected. http://www.radionz.co.nz/news/sport/304062/world-rugby-clear-hayne-plane-for-takeoff?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

He would have been eligible by the Olympics (probably) but as of right now he's not. Only in the last couple of months has the pathway for kiwis like QC (Quade Cooper) to get citizenship been made a bit simpler.

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

I'm being a bit faciotious here but on those numbers then, it does seem that a robust free to air presence is detrimental to participation and player numbers. Baseball, touch have essentially no TV, soccer and basketball have pretty much what we in union already have on FTA - one game a week...

Declining participation and ARU plans for the future

Look at one sport where participation is growing - touch football. Having met their target of 500,000 participants by 2015 they are now aiming for 1,000,000 in 2020 (rubbery figures aside....) They have achieved that with basically nil television at all - and they aren't looking for any -...
