    Brumbies vs Waratahs - Round 2, 2016

Serious question. What has Gisborne been doing all off season with the squad? Hasn't been working on the scrum or handling. That's for bloody sure.

    Brumbies vs Waratahs - Round 2, 2016

They all need to be taken out back and shot. Fucking disgraceful. How can such big lumps be so useless. The Brumbies have been going in off their feet all damn night.

That's good to see. Hopefully the Marlins can grow it and build the club from juniors through to seniors. I genuinely would not have an issue with funding being directed at getting more kids playing not just sampling but playing Rugby. It's just I have to question a number of the clubs resolve...

This highlights the fundamental difference between the Queensland clubs and the SS clubs. They for the most part appear to be comprehensive community based clubs where kids could realistically start in the U6s and progress all the way through their playing careers and beyond. If the SS clubs...

I hope I'm not coming across as bashing the clubs. It's not my intent. I grew up hearing about the Ella brothers et al. from my father who while came from a RL background was a big fan of Randwick and the club. I grew up wanting to play for them and I got to do that. Unfortunately, health issues...

I also think in this discussion we are overlooking what I believe is a huge potential win for Rugby in this country and that is 7s more specifically targeted toward women. The ARU mentioned they wanted to boost womens participation to around 20 odd thousand. Which is great but hardly enough...

Do they run out in the Randwick strip or as part of say the Clovelly Eagles or South Coogee or Maroubra etc? Because they are very different scenarios. If they are actually Randwick teams then great but if they are village clubs with an association (in terms of falling inside their district)...

I knew more than a few blokes who took it upon themselves to create their own opportunities and sort out clubs. Some shone others decided it wasn't for them. I'm not against SS Rugby. Like P.Tah I quite enjoy it and it has its place but it has been positioning itself as an elite pathway for...

Do they? The only involvement from SS clubs I ever saw was come rep time. Even then it was only in the form of a kit. The coaches were a combination of club coaches as were the team managers. I honestly never saw anything from Randwick outside of that until I entered Colts. Hell, in my age group...

I'm an advocate of bypassing the SS clubs and working directly with juniors and schools. I also played for one of the clubs in your second point. While some may indeed be commenting for those reasons my comments come from wanting to see the game grow and prosper.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I think that would be a fair price considering the amount of content. It then comes down to demand. Are there enough Rugby fans not only in the current SANZAAR nations 9plus Japan) to make it viable?

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

How much would you be willing to pay both either monthly and yearly for a hypothetical SANZAAR Rugby channel? Serious question. Assume this includes all Super Rugby and domestic competitions. Plus supplementary programming. Live and on demand with archived games.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

They'd be mad if they tried to charge you that amount. You'd likely find it would be something akin to the NFL Game Pass which is $99 for the season or a monthly subscription fee. Assuming they ever tried it.

    Ideas for NRC

You talk so much sense in that post you should excommunicated just for dare thinking about it. Southern aligning themselves with the Rays is just madness. The ARC alignment does make the most sense (though I'm not too keen on the implications that would have on NSW Country). And the ARU should...

Okay. I would go as far as to establish a regional Union. I'm just going to call it the Macarthur/Wollondily RFU. Within the Union we have one representative entity in the Campbelltown Harlequins. They would be run by the Union. The mandate of the Union would be the development and...

While I think that would be a great idea it would have to come with a comprehenisve plan to grow the game in the area. Just looking at the Macarthur region at present there is a little over 250,000 people living in the area. That's set to at least double in the next 15 years. That's not including...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

It's something you need to really plan for. You have to do the research. Identify the real world market and its size. How much they'd be willing to pay and for what exactly? The most importantly, you have to ensure the production quality is of a high standard. Perhaps the market doesn't exist...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I imagine they were packaged in the deal with Fox. Still, would be worth doing the research into the potential marketplace.
  19. WorkingClassRugger

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

True. However, imagine being able to watch games live and on demand. Analysis etc.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

It's something I've thought SANZAAR or the ARU should have been/should be looking at for quite some time now. The ability to control their own offerings and finances. I actually think it would be an interesting exercise to investigate the size of the marketplace. Even if it's only the ARU. You...
