Bledisloe #1 - AUS v NZL, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, August 8th

I have a feeling that Cheika is going to chop and change all year. He likes a ball playing 12 especially with Foley at 10. There is a certain logic that Giteau's experience, good left foot and distribution skills give him an edge over To'omua's defence and direct running but I can see that...

I still think he is a backrower playing lock, like Dennis

Foley's misses by the Argies were not "normal" for him, the ones I noticed were all him being stepped around while going for a "around the legs" tackle. He bends his back, puts his body on the line and has a go

I don't think you can out mobile the ABs, but you have to be able to compete with them

    Reds 2016

A new coach will already have the excuse of coaching a side he didn't sign/select for next season But they can't seriously be thinking RG is a viable option

I would suggest it will be Foley

    Pocock wins over Skelton .........

    Rebels 2016

Yeah, I remember Eddie Jones complaining about how few games Aus kids transitioning to pros play, they just don't play enough hard rugby. The NRC is great for those 8 odd matches, but it just isn't enough for those fringe units who are holding tackling bags all week in the S15 squads for 8...

Bledisloe #1 - AUS v NZL, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, August 8th

I have reservations about getting 80 quality minutes out of either of them, between the two we can get a reasonable shift. But that equation means Skelton doing 80 against an extremely mobile ABs who will bring on Sam Whitelock to ramp up that mobility in the last 30 minutes I wouldn't be...

I don't know if a Gits vs SBW match up is the wisest choice, if To'omua is healthy enough to sit on the bench, he should start

Skelton will be a key for the game, so much of our play comes from front foot ball that he supplies. The Boks double teamed him all night and we (and he) struggled to get go forward, the Argies allowed it and we rolled over the top of them

    Reds 2016

Well the whole game plan seemed to revolve around getting close enough to run a driving maul when ever possible

    Rebels 2016

I understand why, but is the long term health of that comp at the cost of the development of fringe players?

    Rebels 2016

I am surprised that the Rebels haven't created links to a Shute Shield club to be used as a feeder club in the NRL model. It is all well and good to have a long term plan of growing the local Melb comp, but the reality is that they need to develop players in the short to medium term

I don't see Douglas or Carter fairing any better really. But to me it will be how "lock" time is budgeted and how effectively the ABs nullify Skelton's go forward.

he is also part of the Tahs coaching staff for next season and was actually a Dan Parks type player; a slow, but pretty smart 10

    Waratahs 2016

That uni side was one of the most baffling selections I have seen for ages, Latu starting at LHP, tilse at lock, WTF? But Jim Stewart looks bloody promising at 13

    Shute Shield 2015

And I call bull shit, some kid who has been in at Joey's for 6 years doesn't have any real links with some local club. Just because uni has a decent program don't bemoan their success try to replicate it Typos by SwiftKey, errors in tone by me
