Bledisloe #2 - AUS v NZL, Eden Park, Auckland, August 15th

Well that was a reality check I said in an earlier post that this may have been a good game to be dropped for and unfortunately I was right. The interesting thing to me was how little rugby the ABs played for long sections of the game, they were prepared to absorb all that the Wobs could...

    Scrum Talk

Great work mate, here is a piece from Ireland doing the same kind analysis, only for money http://www.the42.ie/australia-new-zealand-scrum-analysis-2267495-Aug2015/

It will be interesting to see the press conference to understand why we have chosen a couple

Bledisloe #2 - AUS v NZL, Eden Park, Auckland, August 15th

Nah, they are clearly the best side in the world by some way. One loss doesn't change that, the same as a random win against them does not demonstrate the Wobs are in ascendancy They will be bloody tough to get near, let alone beat this weekend

Bledisloe #1 - AUS v NZL, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, August 8th

I think another ref may have been tougher on both sides

Bledisloe #1 - AUS v NZL, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, August 8th

I like it, but it was over used and the operator went in too close in general play at times and then didn't track the play

Bledisloe #1 - AUS v NZL, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, August 8th

But his cleanout work and workrate was very good, I don't think you would ever select Mumm for his crash ball stuff in close, it is like selecting Skelton for his lineout prowess

The impending Hooper vs Pocock Dilemma

Hanson made a quite good point in his press conference re using two opensides, he said it's usefulness depends on the opposition's approach to attack. Against side intent on ball in hand, it has it's place. Against some of the others, less so, and he expected Cheika to pick and choose when...

Bledisloe #1 - AUS v NZL, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, August 8th

Just a thought, but if there was a game this year that being dropped for would not be the worst result - it probably would be the ABs @ Eden Park after a loss

Bledisloe #1 - AUS v NZL, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, August 8th

I haven't watch the replay to spot where Foley was, has anyone looked? On Phipp's "looking" they want to play to a pattern, the attackers should also know their roles, Phipps has been coached to expect the guy to be there, to take that extra "second" and put it on a defence that has less time...

Bledisloe #1 - AUS v NZL, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, August 8th

It is never that simple, there was average ball presentation, defenders loitering, that slowed down the ruck, that allowed the defenders to shoot into the attackers faces, that sent the attackers deeper and Phipps didn't cope with the adjustments needed

Is there any decent 9 who doesn't ref the game as well? It is why a forward always got bonus points for stomping one of the little yappy shits

G&GR Player of the Year- Bledisloe #1 - AUS v NZL, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, August 8th

3 Fardy 2 AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) 1 Pocock HM to Hooper, he did a lot of the tackling so Pocock could do the poaching

Bledisloe #1 - AUS v NZL, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, August 8th

It was interesting that Cheika's press conference that when it was brought up he said that a lot of the erratic passes was down to the ruck with AB players loitering just enough on the ground and in the way. He said Phipps was unsure whether he should be rucking them or stepping over them; and...

Bledisloe #1 - AUS v NZL, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, August 8th

A great win, but lots of room for improvement (and that is a good thing) We won through grit and persistence rather than finesse. I haven't seen a side get so deep on attack for a long time (and win), we were so far behind the advantage line

Bledisloe #1 - AUS v NZL, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, August 8th

He was our only consistent attacking threat who made ground on most runs

Bledisloe #1 - AUS v NZL, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, August 8th

I saw him fighting with Dennis et al for that bench 5/6 role, but Cheika's chosen to go down another path picking the dynamic duo instead
