Agreed TOCC, any player picked in a test side needs to be able to play 80 quality minutes if required. However, if you were coach, wouldn't you give more weight to how you want to use the player, as opposed to how you may be forced to. I think Carter is the best option at the moment regardless...

He was certainly a great fan of Campo. Must have been interesting when they were in test sides together.

I think there is still a fair gap back to Rodda, to be honest. Which is to be expected given his age. He has done some really good things, but needs to be more consistent.

You must be a back. Replace prop for lock. http://wesclark.com/rrr/proptalk.html

Looks are relatively. Not good looking for a catwalk model, perfect 10 for what a lock should look like.

Hasn't it already been announced that Hooper is captain?

But that's the challenge of managing a squad. If they carry 4 hookers, they'll have to run short in another position.

What happened to Scoble? I thought he looked promising. Edit: just to clarify, I'm not suggesting he is in anyway in consideration here, but I thought he might be a semi regular starter for the Force this year, but I can't recall him getting much time at all.

If it was in the car park they would have found it. That's the only place they look.

Leaving aside the selection issues, I am hoping that Cheika & Grey use the relatively long lead in time to - - introduce a new, more aggressive defensive pattern - spend a lot of time on our kick strategy, including a strong emphasis on kick chase (I found Cheika's admission that they don't...

I'm not sold on Hooper as captain either but, to be fair, it's a really tough gig at the moment. Certainly he is the most logical choice in the current squad unless Moore starts.

    Brumbies v Hurricanes QF - Friday 21 July - 7:35pm

Fardy has gone okay for a bloke who can't get a Wallabies start.

No, they wouldn't Fatprop - but we should still be picking a squad which includes the best players to enable us to have the most competitive game Day team we can. I don't believe this squad does that. I don't care if Cheika picks 100 development players, so long as the best couple in each...

IMO Higgers is clearly a better test player than Hanigan or Dempsey at the moment. He also gives better balance to our side than McMahon. Hanigan & Dempseys place can't be assumed as 'development' since both have already been given test jerseys. It's hardly definitive, but Higgers was...

I watched the reply of Reds vs Highlanders this morning - sucker for punishment I know - and I thought Magnay actually showed a far bit, with the exception of 1 terrible pass. These sort of squads always have a few questionables in there. I reckon his selection has a lot more upside than a few...

Well, I think Dean Mumm has moved on from 2014 - albeit only recently.

Agree with your starting backrow Brown Hornett - but I'd like them to have a bigger backrower on the bench, unless they go with a 6/2 split, which I think is a bit fraught with danger at present as a few of our backs are a bit injury prone.

Haha - well, it was long ago. But I have a feel your my vintage or so. When the likes of Eales/McCall/Harrison/Cockbain et al were features in our side we won numerous games off the strength of our line our. Ask Austin Healy.

Arnold, Coleman, Higgers & Timani. RHP in the bench (although I admit I have been impressed with him around the field but not haven't really taken note his strong he is in the lineout). Probably Carter reserve lock at present. Not saying that would be world best right now - but has potential to...
