Springbokke vs Wallabies @ Osfontein 30/9/2017

I'm a bit the same Barbar - hard to be conclusive on him. But with the lack of other in-form options in happy to see him get another crack. I didn't notice so much vs SA, but what I liked about him against the Argies was how he really tried to accelerate through holes between defenders.

Did you forget Robertson & Hanigan or do you not think they'll make the cut?

Fully fit and in form I would find a place for Hunt in the starting team. But he has been out injured for a fair while. Bring him back via the bench and let him demand selection.

Personally I am not advocating for Cooper. And the Foley vs Cooper thing has been done well and truly to death. However, I don't think that makes Foley removed from balanced criticism. IMO hasn't been anything better than adequate at test level for a long time now. Possibly since the World Cup...

Neither Timani nor Arnold will be coming into the side for Argentina. https://www.rugby.com.au/news/2017/09/30/players-sent-home-for-nrc-footy

I'd like to see footage of the aftermath and see exactly what Etzebeth did. Not that I saw anything other than Hooper claiming the use an elbow, but at the very least I thought Etzebeth running in and going on with it the way he did was worth a reversal of the penalty.

Don't mean to fan the flames, but I didn't think Foley was any better than maybe a pass. He definitely did some really good things, but mixed it up with some really poor things as well, particularly in defence, but also some dud kicks. I can't remember noticing Rodda much. I am hoping that was...

I doubt it's Arnold's ability, or apparent lack thereof, to call line outs which is a significant problem. He is not our best lineout exponent, but from my viewing he is proficient. Personally I would have liked to see Arnold & Coleman given a few successive starts together at least. But...

I'm a bit worried that we hit the bullseye with Mackenzie and we are now destined for a lengthy period of missing the board entirely and wrecking a set of quite reasonable darts.

I'm not a fan of the level of rotation in the locks either, but if I play devils advocate for a minute - - lock is arguably the position where we have complained the most consistently that our available options have been short of the standard of our key opposition - Cheika has stated publicly...

    Reds 2018

This pretty much mirrors my thoughts. I am concerned we are continually setting coaches up to fail. I am hopeful that Brad Thorn's background as a bloke who took no short cuts will be the right direction for the Reds and Mooney, from what I've heard, is a guy who is very good with attack and...

Springbokke vs Wallabies @ Osfontein 30/9/2017

Don't mind that idea at all. A bit of reliance on the young blokes to get stuck in and duke it out with the Boks but it does seem that guys like Tui, Rodda and, from what I've seen of him, Dempsey relish getting stuck in. Plus will hopefully help neutralise the altitude factor. Baring injury...

NRC 2017 Round 4: Fiji Drua vs Perth Spirit - Saturday @3pm AEST

I agree with all that - except I don't feel that your first line doesn't take into account the rest of my comments. I am not critical of the individual unions who are trying to put together competitive sides. I don't think either the Rebels or the Brumbies had much choice last year but to go OS...

NRC 2017 Round 4: Fiji Drua vs Perth Spirit - Saturday @3pm AEST

Warpath - I am not sure if I have missed your point, or you've missed mine. I made an earlier post about the introduction of the Fijian import rule where I specifically stated that it was good for Fijian rugby, World rugby and the super rugby teams, but not necessarily Australian rugby. You...

NRC 2017 Round 4: Fiji Drua vs Perth Spirit - Saturday @3pm AEST

Shiggins - you really can't bring yourself to give any credit to the Fiji side other than 'they are physical and fit'???? Sorry mate - but if they played to the refs interpretation and got away with it, that's rugby. But they were by far the better team and the influence of the ref was nominal...

NRC 2017 Round 4: Fiji Drua vs Perth Spirit - Saturday @3pm AEST

Warpath - a list has been provided above, so I won't repeat it - but the use of non-eligible players at 10 & in the backrow has been commented on this site pretty regularly. I thought it was pretty well acknowledged the problems it had caused - particularly at 10. Previously we had Alby...

NRC 2017 Round 4: Fiji Drua vs Perth Spirit - Saturday @3pm AEST

Good for Fiji rugby and good for the game generally given how much the Pacific islands get pillaged. Not bad for the competitiveness of our super franchises either to help with their depth. But it's not so great for Australian rugby. We currently have 30 odd uncontracted players looking for...
