Laumape has been quite weak defensively on his inside shoulder. Whether that is a matter of communication with his inside defenders or not, I don't know, but his weakness there has been very apparent to this TV viewer.

Sounds like a bit of Catch 22 there JB. Timu is not the answer to complement the Pooper but will improve with more test time. Do you see him getting time off the bench? BTW I'm sure he is quite capable of telling Hooper and Pocock just how good they've played.;)

Timu was very strong in the second half on Friday. That sort of form really should have him in the No 8 Wallaby jersey.

Honestly, Derpus, I'd rather see them both in preference to Phipps but it ain't going to happen. And I do recognise Phipps has had one or two decent games in the latter part of the Super Rugby season. But he is too inconsistent.

Tui is a fine player and just what the Tahs have missed the past couple of seasons (in the forwards at least - Naiyaravoro is another story). But I have to wonder exactly what is in store for the Reds if the exodus continues. Will it be a case of shrinking to three for greatness?
