    Bledisloe 1 - Saturday 18 August 2018 - ANZ Stadium, Sydney

Allan's workload when he plays THP is immense. Hits the ball up off the ruck, makes his tackles, hits rucks and scrums great. Should have even more energy when playing on the LH side and for only around 20 minutes. Expect a strong showing.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I am in my mid-70s and have been doing a fair bit of caravaning this past year. I have Foxtel Now with three packages including sport, and unlimited download on my mobile phone plan. Where adequate wifi isn't available, I set the phone up as a hot spot and wifi to the laptop with a HDMI...

    NSW teams 2018

And as I noted previously, with the most friendly home start to the competition, it will be a mystery if the Sydney side doesn't win the whole damn thing.

A case of no LHs wanting to put their hands up to face the Thor in the last 20 minutes, perhaps?

    Waratahs 2019

Richie's error perhaps was coming to the Brumbies when Rory was already here. Exceptionally similar players, so odds were that only one would start, but remember that on an occasion or two, that one was Richie. Had he gone to another franchise, he possibly, maybe probably, would have started, or...

World Series Rugby: Rd 7 Western Force v Panasonic Wild Knights Friday 17 August at 06:30PM WST

Heenan, Cornelsen, Barnes, Moloney (?). Who else. I am under the impression that Millar is South African. Is this not so?

Maybe he meant for the moment? Word is that Kerevi will sign a one year deal with the Reds and be available to go elsewhere in 2020. Never say never.

Peyper/Jonker is a recurring nightmare to me.

    Brumbies 2019

Conrad usually had big, abrasive No 12s inside him. Maybe, in time, partnered with Kerevi at 12 would make a good combination?

And replace them with Robertson and Latu, BH? Some people goes to all ends to see their beloved Tahs make up the vast bulk of the Wallabies.

    Brumbies 2019

Ikitau has been impressive at the U20s level, but does he have the size to make it as a No 13 in Super Rugby? 180cm and 90kg is a bit on the small size these days, I would have thought. Anyway, hopefully he proves me wrong.

    Reds 2019

Brumbies lent Nathan Charles to the Force some years ago when they had untimely injury problems at hooker. I don't remember any agreement that he could/would not play against the Brumbies when they met. Charles never returned to the Brumbies as he subsequently signed a contract with the Force...

    Shute Shield 2018

Wasn't impressed at all with Snowden on the weekend. Consistently calling (badgering more like it) for his forwards to come around to the blind side of the ruck when the opposition already outnumbered his own players on that side. Just doesn't seem to take a look at the where the defense is...

    Bledisloe 1 - Saturday 18 August 2018 - ANZ Stadium, Sydney

I don't see that at all D. I think Hodge at 13, where he has some experience and now a few test matches behind him, with Folau at 15 is a stronger combination than Folau at 13, where he has failed to shine at Super level, and Banks at 15 with no test match experience at all. Really like to see...

World Series Rugby: Rd 6 Western Force v Hong Kong Friday 10 August at 06:30PM WST

Rodney Iona could just as well be listed as an Aussie returning from O/S, due to his long association with the Brumbies. The quality of opposition is a worry, but I was impressed with Ferris, Harrison Orr, (back rowers) and the back three of Maddocks, Lacey and Uyen. Lee-Warner again looked...

    Waratahs 2019

I'd defy anyone other than a family member to be able to distinguish between the two of them, on the field and off it. Rory is a proven test player, and Richie is as identical as it comes, in his play as well as his looks. Richie would have been an upgrade on all of the locks with the Tahs, and...

    Bledisloe 1 - Saturday 18 August 2018 - ANZ Stadium, Sydney

If he's still playing in 5 years the odds are that he will still be captain. The two seem to go hand in hand. And given just how much he is going to cost RA, then we'd all have to hope he is still playing in 5 years time.

    Bledisloe 1 - Saturday 18 August 2018 - ANZ Stadium, Sydney

Very few if any of the criticisms of the contract are about the value placed on Hooper. Though that is the one element the defenders try to limit the debate to. It is simply the five year duration that most, perhaps all, are critical of.

    Waratahs 2019

Yes, quite so. Come 2020, there will be Hardwick, Wright, McReight and any of the other already established No 7s who might return (Gill, Colby) or stay here (Pocock) playing. A position of some riches now and for the foreseeable future.

Thanks BH - the ever reliable response even if true. I did mention his age in another post on the subject and conceded it might be a factor against him. Funny though, that every time someone puts forward a young up and comers name, especially at 10, there seems to be a chorus calling for a more...
