    Wallabies 2020

I mean no disrespect to the bloke but with regards to being an exciting backrow prospect for the Wallabies, having a dicky heart is no less of a flaw than say having hands like feet, low work rate, or being a penalty magnet. He was exciting player to watch but not cut out for test rugby because...

Agreed. He's leaking stuff directly to Halloran which jeorpadises RA, the players' employer. It seems he has decided that the best thing for players is to side with the captains to implement the overhaul, and/or for RA to go into administration and reboot.

When I first read it in the paper (iPad) this morning I was a little bit outraged and starting penning a RA sledge here, basically along the lines of that’s what I thought Castle and Clowne were meant to be doing. But then as I wrote and read it occurred to be that’s it’s perfectly reasonable...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Sounds like a case of 'watch this space' to me. Does this mean we get to look forward to a Dan Herbert and Phil Waugh commentary team?

    Wallabies 2020

it was spoken about a bit before the meltdown, but neither of Naisarani or Valetini are renowned jumpers. Particularly an issue if LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) is one of the locks. Big powerful forward pack but in a lineout sense would be no better than the Pooper. Naisarani will likely be selected before Valetini.

In fairness to BR he was just answering my question, the bulk of the conversation of which was to do with this thread until I asked the question. But fair game I'll answer his return question elsewhere.

I am not opposed to that scenario either. I did see one comment though that said she (Halloran) didn't account for $14m of deferred revenue which brings them back in the black.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Reg, a really good article, and whilst I agree with a lot of your points, and there are many I would like to see happen, I think it paints too much of a bearish scenario with regards to professionalism. Having read through and thought over all the different models and proposals myself, I...

Possibly by virtue of the fact there will be less Waratahs and more Brumbies in the team. But if you want to beat your chest about that go for it. Bar Hanigan who was picked too soon, and Folau who was terminated for other reasons, all of those players you mention were at the end of their...

They are both by Jessica Halloran and they both pretty much have the same detail. It looks like a pretty obvious slur campaign and are claiming a net debt of $20m, therefore saying it’s insolvent.

It’s good that you put the P in the front of Pooper otherwise people might think you had a thing against Waratahs players.

Who are the Wallabies of today?

    Australian Rugby / RA

I pretty much agree with everything you are are saying and I also like the stuff the things she’s been covering. It’s not her content that’s the issue, what I’m referring to with regards to it being concerning is that she’s quoting, seemingly word for word, a confidential email chain between...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Whilst he is no doubt correct right now, I bet this comes back to bite him on the arse.

It is a good read. I actually picked that up when I read the NFJ article. Personally I just think the 3 outgoing directors and chairman need to be replaced with competent people, and a good CEO with a successful sports admin resume (read Carroll) and we will be on the right track. From a...

Haha. No. That would be a different kind of leak. It was reg’s second sentence that raised the alarm, not the first.

That is massively concerning if true.

Discussions maybe. Just had a Zoom meeting with our local club and we basically decided to pull the pin on any participation in our regional comp this year. Logic being that even if restrictions are relaxed, things might flare up again, fan engagement is dodgy at best, etc, etc. Lower level I...
