    RC4 - Australia v Argentina

Sorry KOB, but To'omua is a much better footballer than either of Foley or Beale. Right now, he probably should be filling the 10 spot, but with few suitble No 12s (and Beale is not one) going round, then it looks like Foley at 10 and To'omua at 12. When does Kerevi come back. Can't be soon...

    RC4 - Australia v Argentina

Ok, I'll have a go. Lord Lawrie in as a temporary head coach until after RWC 2019. If Larkham is considered to be inadequate (and that is an unknown in my eyes because he has surely been restrained by Cheika's overall strategies/plans) then Simon Cron in as attack coach. Someone who...

    RC4 - Australia v Argentina

The main problems were a lack of a discernible game plan and abysmal execution of skills by every one of the team. The Argies were very poor compared to their effort last week, but we were just much worse. I don't think I've seen so many hospital passes in one game as the Wallabies threw...

    RC4 - Australia v Argentina

Some very bad misses in the last Arbies try, but DHP cannot be relied on in the 15 spot to make his tackles. Must improve or back to the bench. Like to see Banks get a go.

Is Peter Kimlin still playing somewhere?

    RC4 - Australia v Argentina

KOB. By his comments above, Derpus must be close. And why would you think others will say that we would have lost if Hooper had played. That is an extremely long bow. Whether the game is won or lost, I would think we will be analysing the game on the basis of the input of the players there...

    RC4 - Australia v Argentina

As I suspect KOB that there are some who will be secretly hoping the Wallabies will lose so that they can say that had Hooper been playing they would have won.

    RC4 - Australia v Argentina

Not really UTG. It is not Hooper per se, but the combination of Hooper at 7 and Pocock at 8 that most criticise. I don't think anybody is suggesting that Hooper isn't our second best No 7 and a worthy player at test level. It is just the unnecessary doubling up of two No 7s that in many eyes is...

Hooper was the No 7 and played like a No 7. He is our second best No 7. But when Pocock is on the field even at No 8, Hooper is not required. Samu is a better bench option to cover all three backrow spots.

    RC4 - Australia v Argentina

I would personally prefer Timu at 8, but Samu was pretty impressive there last weekend. On comparison with Hooper, I'd say Samu is a better lineout jumper, a better fetcher but doesn't have Hooper's high work rate, though that is not a criricism of Samu. I would prefer Samu to Hooper at both No...

Precisely. And with the Pooper on the field, we have effectively a two or two and a half man backrow. The role Hooper plays is as yet undefined. He does not play 7, as that is Pocock's role to attack the breakdown and secure ball; he does not play 8 as he is too often playing in the 12 spot...

NRC Rnd 3: Canberra v Western Force

Still think the Vikings need a conventional No 7 to put more pressure on the breakdown. Oakman-Hunt would be better placed at 6 imo. The other change up I'd like to see is Simone at 12 in place of JJH.

NRC Rnd 3: Sydney Rays v Brisbane City

The return of Jack Dempsey. Good news for Sydney, Tahs and the Wallabies.

Came the cry in the wilderness. I am not too fussed with the props, but will be hoping Kepu can add strength at the scrum. I would actually more prefer to see Pocock moved to No 7 and Samu/Timu brought into No 8, but I am in the wilderness too. But not alone.

    The Rugby Championship 2018

Would that be the smallest Saffa bench backline cover ever?

Australia vs South Africa 8th September

Rodda will make it to the top, but Hockings and Blyth really have a bit to make up on Swain imo.

    The Wallabies Thread

So, all the ABs have to do is buy Poey a beer and all is forgiven. Not bloody likely FP.

    Refereeing decisions

Would be a pity if the costs don't have to be borne by the host club in UK. That might act as some sort of disincentive, depending of course on the relative values of the return flights and the potential fines.

    Refereeing decisions

BH, I wonder who foots the bill for the return flights for TPN and To'omua (and any others) to return in the bye weeks?

2018 TV ratings and crowd numbers

It's really a bit odd to want rugby-only fans watching on Fox (or anywhere else that it might be shown). I watch nearly all Super games involving the Aus teams, and all tests with either the Wallabies or All Blacks involved. I also watch Moto GP, world cycling and occasionally others, and...
