We / The game plan has lacked a first play maker for the last couple of years

    Waratahs 2013

I havent seen a creative side of Barnes for some time, not sure whether that is due to player, coach, game plan so I will sit on the fence. Barnes is good defensively though

Yeah I meant and thought you meant Eddie Aholelei - you through me with the spelling Aholetei. I heard he went back on later in the game and am also keen to hear how he went.

Agree with what you have said, yes. I dont have access to the statsitacal data, but I'm sure it suggest the 6 - 10 year olds should get attention, I'd be interest to see the growth in respective codes over a 20 year period. 1990 - registered 6 - 10 year olds playing Rugby, Rugby league, AFL...

Disagree, we want the 6,7,8,9,10 year old taking an interest and playing (wrong, enjoying rugby) rugby and their dads following. Yes it rose the profile and punters debated it in the pubs, but, there is no firm measuring tool to gauge the impact it had on the grass roots. Gate numbers will...

Do you mean Eddie? I saw that but heard he went back on later - any news?

    How did Jordy Reid go?

    Waratahs 2013

True, but the best players also need to be physically up to the standard they train for. Have you read what Brad Thorn put himeslf through? More often than not the good trainers are making up to offset other weaknesses. Example I'm not a McCabe fan, Tah's didnt want him, he trained hard to make...

Still trials, did you go to the game, people were interested so why not take advantage of the marketing opportunity. The ytd suggests a good culture and a team will be picked to suit a team / game plan. Still trials.

Congrats on your work and achievement. A post like yours provides a great insight thank you. The Waratahs have 35 players at their disposal to attend days, schools, and invest in junior rugby I hope they do it. Out west is a big area, I reckon Parra or Penrith would get behind your efforts, the...

    Shute Shield 2013

Question, have you read the media about the public love for the afternoon football. So many people enjoyed the Saturday afternoon Wales test even though the quality was poor the atmosphere was great. Does it grow through appealing to the tv audience, or grow by attendance and taking the kids...

So OP, you picked the 2 points I was raising. Did we really get anything out of Del (and others), Could those dollars be used in the grass roots, Faloa though it is still early, i hope he is used at grass roots level, rather than the ARU thinking we stole a league player lets waive the flag and...

    Waratahs 2013

After 20 years in the Wilderness Allambie Jets just started up again - 70.00 yesterday. What was great, and it provides an example - Manly rugby players, and Coaches turned up to help (on a cold wet day) that is investing in grass roots.

    Waratahs 2013

Yes, yes, also have that age groups playing the curtain raisers for Shute Shield games, the Tahs attending these games and kicking the balls around with the kids, and giving away some family passes.

    Waratahs 2013

Greed - really, thats a piss poor excuse the powers to be may use. a boy or girl at 6, 7, 8, 9, what is their NRL, AFL, FFA weekly pay packet - didly squat. They are creating an interest, they are creating fun, they are creating a colt following, and from the grass roots an interest and love of...

    Shute Shield 2013

    # 8 some good points; 2 - 3 years most certainly, or can the Shute evolve into this comp, we can then leverage off club support. A number of great players, What is Barnes being rummered to be paid, What is SBW being paid - how can we compete with that. Look at the interest Sebastien Chabal...

    Shute Shield 2013

Ideas being thrown out there thats all, same as the University comp idea - UTS didnt make it with Drummoyne, UNSW has never stepped up so why would / could something be created now? Why can't the Shute Shield be the 3T', a great foundation (almost 140 years of it)? The top 6 / bottom 6 idea...
