    Official Sean McMahon Bandwagon Thread

Is it really a selection of preference though or a reflection of form, or simply a reflection on there current playing stock? I recall Broussow being a preferred option when he was in form. Lots of hype around him and his fetching abilities as it adds another dimension to the SA game. Since then...

Well he probably was the best fetcher in the world at the time. But he still had plenty of other skills.

Disagree. Just because Hooper plays that way doesn't mean all seven's should. His style fits what we currently need given our current playing stock. I've posted this somewhere before. The back-row needs balance. Our current back-row of Hooper/Fardy provides that because Fardy can be a fetcher...

watch out mate, this kind of humour is way ahead of its time.

@Tip said it best. You pick the best Australian winger for the past 3 years now that he's proven his fitness. Horne had a decent game against the Baa Baa's, he also had some shockers in the TRC. So his form isn't good enough to ignore. Same with Tomane who has had mixed efforts. So he isn't...

    Wales v Australia

Bit harsh on Speight I think. I think he did enough to earn a spot. He was strong into contact and I think he goes looking for work a lot more then Horne - who I still don't think is a natural winger. So I disagree he needed to have a blinder - he just needed to prove his fitness.

    Wallabies v Barbarians - 1/11/14 (Twickenham)

75% ain't bad for early engagement. My thinking is this: If you compare our current back-row of 6. Fardy 7. Hooper to a potential backrow of 6. McMahon 7. Pocock. As pairs, you got 2 very balanced flankers. Both offer mobility, link/support man, work-rates, breakdown presence, a line-out...

    Wales v Australia

Agree with all the above comments. White certainly played the more up-tempo game. But Genia did show glimpses of his old self and that is hard too ignore. I would still be tempted to have Genia on the bench over White.

Crazy the difference of perception. I actually think the service from White was noticeably quicker and more direct then Genia.

Hard choice, Lilo or Cooper. Buggered if I know, Lilo deserves the bench if he doesn't start, and then we all want to see Cooper get some much needed game-time. How about To'omua start this game. Lilo dropped, but starts the next game. Cooper on the bench both times.

    Wallabies v Barbarians - 1/11/14 (Twickenham)

I think the real question is what can Hooper provide that McMahon cannot.

    Wales v Australia

I hope to see Genia and Cooper are on the bench. They showed glimpses of some good form. Genia probably a step off the pace but was showing some great composure and decision making. Cooper a bit rusty. I feel both are close to firing though and that is an exciting thing for the wallabies. Any...

McMahon is pretty much a taller Hooper.

How much quicker was the service when White came on the field. I forgot how quick and good his pass was. Would have been great to have Cooper on there at the same time. McMahon impressive. Especially his running game. To'omua and Lilo is going to be a tough call.

Never thought of that. Interesting, He still put in some very good defensive reads and big hits. So I think defensively he shouldn't be marked down. Although his attack probably benefited from having Fekitoa marking him.

Anyone got Pocock hammering Shalk Burger at the ruck. Now that was an awesome site.

I'm with BR. I rate QC (Quade Cooper) a better defender then Foley.
