    National U/16 Championships 2013

Interesting, Hugh. So in the indigenous under seventeen side presently touring France we have three NSW GPS boys (two Iggies, one TAS), while in the Indigenous under sixteens we have four NSW GPS boys ( two TAS, one Kings, one Iggies). No real conclusions, I'm just interested in patterns.

Thanks, Hugh. I really appreciate this.

    National U/16 Championships 2013

May I ask for some help? I am interested in the national indigenous side because of the Northern NSW/TAS connection. Can anybody give me a short overview of their results (I have seen some very unbalanced scores)plus a link to the full results for all?

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

I don't know about Scots, but in fairness, TAS has a lots of bursaries and scholarships, including fee remissions for parents that strike hard times such as droughts. Some are cross-subsidises by other fees, but my impression is that most come from gifts and bequests.

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2014

This came via the TAS Facebook page: "Good luck to Jayden Harradine & Wayne Mumbulla playing in the National u16s Indigenous rugby team at national rugby championships at St Ignatius College, Riverview, and to Callum Morris, with the National Indigenous u17s rugby squad in France, playing...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

In many ways I find this a complicated discussion. This is a public, non Green & Gold, contribution to the debate - http://belshaw.blogspot.com.au/2013/09/saturday-morning-musings-school-sport.html

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2014

While the debate on scholarships rolls on, Rugby continues elsewhere. The Fijian side thrashed Country School Boys (five TAS players in the Country team) 74-10 after a half time score 29-10. This is the Prime news story on the match -...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2013

Thanks Hugh. I hit enter too early. Love the jimbo bit. That's what many of my older friends call me :). I will try to write broadly next year. My girls have have a classification called sooky movies. Eldest in particular. Many are US movies in a sports environment. You know, new coach who...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2013

Thanks Wreckless and I share your pride in your son. I am a reasonably well known blogger and have been writing about the comp as well in the broader on-line environment. Given my writing commitments across various platforms (print as well as electronic), participation on G&G is actually a...

Wreckless, I have enjoyed the discussion and the education you all provide. Is it time to switch focus to the 2014 thread? I have some more comparative results to post.

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2013

Very true. As the end, there was a five point spread among the top six teams, with SGS coming fourth but only two points behind TAS. A two point spread among the top four teams is competitive. indeed. SBHS were further behind, but did win one, draw one.

And here's the same video from another TV station, the action footage was filmed by Year 11 student Nick Murray, but with a more detailed commentary..- http://au.prime7.yahoo.com/n2/video/-/watch/18882734/milestone-for-local-school/

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2013

I couldn't resist a further comment. I hope that you don't mind. It really was a combined school effort from the 13s up. The underdog story sells Rugby. Next year, but subject to the comp changes, it would be nice to think that the other minnows (SBHS & SGS) would be there too. SGS was...

I thought that some of you might like this story from NBN news with its shots of the TAS-Newington Thirds game and the local reaction. - http://www.nbnnews.com.au/index.php/2013/09/11/tas-celebrates-historical-achievement/

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2013

This question came from TAS for the historians in our midst. Can you help? "Jim, While there seems to be no mention of it on any AAGPS site on the net (including Wikipedia etc), I believe this may not in fact have been the first time a GPS 3rds comp ran - I"ve been told there might have been a...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2013

Good questions. I just can't answer them in that way! When I go, I am on my own; eldest daughter loves Rugby and was going to come with me for the Newington game but got sick; so I am there just for the Rugby. The three events that I most enjoyed were at Shore, Scots and Newington. Scots was...
