NRC Rd 6: Canberra Vikings v Sydney, 12pm 5 October

Definitely think Rob is taller than Pete. Two exceptional forwards who will make their presence felt in different ways from next year. Rob is rock solid in defense and anyone who runs into him will know it. Pete has a touch of Ardie Savea about his ball carrying in close quarters. He just...

    RWC Pool D - Wallabies vs Uruguay -Saturday October 5 2019 @ 2:15pm

Isn't that what most of us have been saying for the past couple of years or more? We cannot win the RWC with Foley at 10. Think I've seen it at least 100 times, and is proving to be a pretty much on the money.

    RWC Pool D - Wallabies vs Uruguay -Saturday October 5 2019 @ 2:15pm

Not really UTG. It looked to me that he sent them out there with instructions to hit hard, play hard and don't give a fucking inch. Of course, that is a game plan that never works because players invariably push too hard and incur penalties and cards, just like the Wallabies did today. I...

If only we had Foley at 10 calling the shots. All will be well with the world when we have the Foley, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), Beale axis.:(

Good one KOB, you'd rather have a go at me (though I haven't even posted on the match at all yet) than to call Cheika out for even the worst of his failings.

    Brumbies 2020

Hewat showing good signs as a coach, and has the side playing like the Brumbies finished this year. Pasitoa was impressive but Hooper for me was MOTM. Huge lad and very strong in all aspects of the game, except unfortunately jumping in the lineout.

    Reds 2020

Some excellent performances by the Aussie boys. Thought Hooper was outstanding and MOTM. Shame about the No 15 and both wingers going off toLeague. They are all very talented. The whole backline was very slippery in attack and until the last 10 minutes very strong in defense. Happy from a...

NRC Rd 6: Canberra Vikings v Sydney, 12pm 5 October

I'd have to have Brown in the 7 spot. That would mean Valetini and Samu in 6 and 8, but not sure of the best way round. EDIT : However, it looks like the conversation has switched from the Vikings game thread to covering the Brumbies in 2020.

Again, it will come down to the front row holding their own in the scrum. Certainly looked a lot better last week, but the Drua are not one of the stronger scrumming sides. Have to mention Blake Enever too. Although he's on the bench this week, he has really put in huge efforts in the NRC this...

And Tom Wright. While he's going good on the wing, I think 12 will be his best spot down the line.

If you can't see the cloak, does that mean it is there or that it isn't there?

    Waratahs 2020

Not trying to be harsh at all, but that's how I see them lining up against the other Aus Super teams. I can see that Nawa.. could well replace one of Clark or Newsome during 2020. Can only judge Moeroa atm on the basis he is a leaguie. I think it's fair to say that Moetoa/Foketi looks a bit...

    Waratahs 2020

Excellent front row, poor second row, excellent back row; questionable halves, fairly ordinary centres and outside backs. Some really good talent coming through from the U20s, but will need a year or more to blossom. Harris, Harrison, Nawaqanitawase, Tafa, Tizzano, Bell, Donaldson, and...

    QLD Teams 2019

Wilson is a fantastic talent. As is McReight too.

But we are only too well aware of the results. There is little to no evidence in the Wallabies results over a four year period that suggests Cheika, and lately his selection buddies, have much idea about how to put a team together.

That basket, KOB, that contains Michael Cheika only, on his lonesome. I did think Robbie Deans was kept on one contract extension too long, but have never otherwise wanted any Wallaby coach consigned to a basket. Fortunately for the whole of the Australian rugby community, there has only ever...

Mack Hanson has been tremendous in the NRC, but no time at all at 10.

    RWC Pool D - Wallabies vs Uruguay -Saturday October 5 2019 @ 2:15pm

I am surprised at the apparent turnaround in a lot of posts about Matt To'omua. Just a few weeks ago, he was regarded by most as being No 3 in the No 10 stakes and many said he was fortunate to make the RWC squad just on his versatility. Many a poster said he was at best a 12 able in an emergency...

If it were a matter of choice, I'd prefer QC (Quade Cooper) in the Wallabies to Cheika as Wallabies coach. Unlikely to see either of them after the next couple of weeks though.

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

Agree BH in relation to 2020. Further on, I think Will Harrison is showing the greatest potential, but I am impressed with Bayley Keunzle in the NRC. I don't think Donaldson will make it as a top flight No 10. 15 might be more his go. Same as I don't think Lolesio is a top flight 10 in the...
