    Wallabies v All Blacks Sydney

Precisely. This young team is doing well. We all want them to win against the ABs, and some people demand it, but the ABs are not exactly weak. Personally, I think we're doing fine and I'm looking forward to the next few years when these guys continue to improve. I really can't understand...

    Position Vacant:

e_force_er, I think it has already been announced that Graham won't be skills coach next year.

The Wallabies - sprinters not stayers

I definitely agree the player conditioning is wrong in some way, and Bruce's main point is well made. Personally, my suspicions are drawn towards the S14 coaches.

The Wallabies - sprinters not stayers

Bruce, I still think your theories about the relationship between strength work and endurance are controversial.

MOTM 3-2-1 Wallabies vs All Blacks, Sydney

Mortlock? Pfft. Timmy Horan is looking pretty well, and how about Mark Ella for that troublesome tight head propping position?

    Wallabies v All Blacks Sydney

I'm strongly leading towards Pocock leading the team officially sooner rather than later, and taking a bit of a punt on it. I'd have included Sanchez in that equation as well but his place may not be secure.

Is Rugby in Trouble in Oz?

It's like climate change. You could draw a trend line from the high of 2006 to the low of 2009 and say crowds are falling. But if you take a statistical view, the trend in the professional era is steadily upwards. The current cycle is typical of that. We just happen to be at the low point in the...

Is Rugby in Trouble in Oz?

    It's a recurring myth that crowds are down. They are, but only by a few thousand, and this year's are better than last year's. Here are the home averages since 2004: Year Total Games Average 2004 292078 6 48680 2005 303023 6 50504 2006 319982 6 53330 2007 242226 5 48445 2008...

    Wallabies v All Blacks Sydney

Changing the subject, I haven't seen the author of this thread, Muttonbird, since he complained on PR that he was told by the mods here that he was not allowed to 'disagree'. What was that about? Very poor form if true.

MOTM 3-2-1 Wallabies vs All Blacks, Sydney

I agree with all that. Like he converted this one. :-) Turner has a lot to add to the mix. But he does have to get his confidence back to deliver on his natural gifts.

    Matt Giteau

I think it's more interesting than that. KB (Kurtley Beale) is becoming a real crowd pleaser. People see a potentially world-class player with some real charisma about him. Who wouldn't want to cheer? If he keeps this up they'll be chanting "Gilbert, Gilbert."

It's not as simple as there being no halfback. At Genia's old speed (or Burgess' now) there is the option for extremely fast ball. That just isn't happening and the ball is being held in the ruck while Genia gets into position.

I agree crangs. A lot of the reffing comments are just disappointment. He was equally shit.

    Wallabies v All Blacks Sydney

When Chisholm was a running second row, people slated him for not working enough in the tight. Now that he works in the tight, people slate him for not being sufficiently dynamic in open play. And always, always, the critics warn other people to stop looking at his guns. Weird world, innit?

That raises an interesting point. These may be the Bluckness, and test match rugby may be 'different', but this is essentially the Hurricanes backline.

Jerseys; the good, the bad and the ugly

I have this one. I've worn it socially a lot, including to televised games at the Temple Walkabout in London. Real people love it. Rugby bores hate it. :lmao:
