RWC 2019 1/4 Final England vs Australia

Beat me to it. Only upside is being able to say FO Cheika.

RWC 2019 1/4 Final England vs Australia

I think that this game has shown once and for all that the Pooper is not a winner in test matches. Hooper won a couple of turnovers on the back of excellent tackling by others, but otherwise he might have just as well have been here at home watching the game. He is not a No 7, nor a No 6 nor a...

RWC 2019 1/4 Final England vs Australia

There is a difference in the No 10s RN, but the bigger problem is the light years of difference between E Jones and M Cheika.

What's the go with this silly fucking "paint a picture" bullshit? Something Cheika picked up in a management forum and is now spreading like a virus to the internet.

Can't agree. His decision making has been poor. Going the wrong side (where the defense is sytacked) more often than not and his passing has been a bit Phipps-like.

NRC SF: Canberra Vikings v Fijian Drua, Sunday 20 October, 3pm AEDT

I am one who is surprised at Keunzle being benched. It is only a matter of opinion, but in mine Bayley has been better in the No 10 spot than Noah. I have been especially impressed with the way the combination of Keunzle and Simone at 10 and 12 is developing. Hanson being benched is also a...

I'd also throw Fergus Lee-Warner into the mix for 2020 and beyond. Maybe lacking in Super experience atm but his form in the NRC is as good as any of Hockings, Blyth and Swain and better than the U20s personnel from this year.

    Brumbies 2020

I seem to recall that he played for the Broncos. Is that not correct?

NRC SF: Canberra Vikings v Fijian Drua, Sunday 20 October, 3pm AEDT

Conal McInerney injured again? Scrum doesn't look as strong without him at hooker. Just need to get a good share of the ball and play with patience, accuracy and intent. Keep mistakes to a minimum to deny the counter attack. Try to throw the ball around like the Drua will be just looking for...

    Brumbies 2020

Although it is a relatively infrequent occurrence, the Brumbies have had a deal of success remoulding League players into Union players at the highest levels. Joe Tomane, Jesse Mogg, Tom Wright (in process). Probably a couple of others. Kata will probably find he has a whole lot of help in...

RWC 2019 1/4 Final Japan vs South Africa

Didn't watch the Japan/Scotland game live, but watched the replay with great anticipation after all the positive posts on the game. Have to say, I thought it was a fairly disappointing game and wasn't really impressed with either side a great deal. I can't see Japan being competitive with SA...

RWC 2019 1/4 Final England vs Australia

True, BH, I am committed to the view that Poey is a better No 7 than Michael, and that the Wallabies only need one of them in the game day 23. In one or two more games after Poey retires, there will be no debate about Michael H being the number 7 and captain until someone like Liam Wright or...

RWC 2019 1/4 Final England vs Australia

I agree pretty much with your points 1/, 2/ and 3/, but the question was related to who is better than Naisarani at 8, regardless of whether he has been an asset or not at the lineout. My argument is that Poey isn't as good at the lineout as Isi whatever Isi's form atm, and also doesn't carry...

RWC 2019 1/4 Final England vs Australia

Spot on. Can't see NZ losing their QF in any circumstances. I really think SA will have too much power and organisation for Japan and either of Wales or France could win without it being an upset.

    NRC Semi-Final - Western Force v Brisbane City - UWA Sports Park - Saturday, 19 October 2019 - Noon

I think Lee-Warner is a top class player, and has been for the past couple of years. I have to admit though that I've never seen him play flanker, or anywhere other than in the second row. I would have him as one of the locks in a combined best team from the NRC.

RWC 2019 1/4 Final England vs Australia

So who should be the No 8? Poey doesn't jump at all really and Dempsey wouldn't be any better imo than Isi. Neither Poey nor Dempsey carry as good as Isi. LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto) would no doubt be better at lineout time, but he's essentially a lock playing at 6. To my knowledge, he hasn't ever played No 8 at...

RWC 2019 1/4 Final England vs Australia

My prediction is that if cards are handed out in numbers, the Wallabies will receive most of them. Not because of the officials, but because of dumb play that the Wallabies are more likely to participate in.

    NRC onwards and upwards

The Shield got a mention or two during the NRC season. The problem to me is that there are too few teams and games where the Shield is up for contest for it to be taken too seriously. IMO, given the short duration of NRC, it should be contested every week regardless of the game being a home or...
