    Brumbies 2020

Certainly is. JJH, Lucas, Mann-Rea and Taliauli all gone this year. Also very late getting the new players listed, and not even with photographs.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Dan, are you saying that the NZ games should start at 9.30pm NZ time? Seems that's the only way they would be played here at 7.30pm (or maybe even 10.30 kickoff to get it on in Qld at 7.30?)

Aus Super Rugby players to watch in 2020

Liam Wright (one injury away from a test spot), Harry Wilson (has exceptional skills) and Henry Speight (re-born) at the Reds. HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes) (strong prop with backrow skills), Will Harrison (imo best of the young No 10s), Mark Nawaqanitawase and Jack Maddocks at the Tahs. Andrew Deegan, Rob Leota at...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Funny how discussions get turned around and go off track. My initial comment was related to a perceived weakening of the SA teams due to the absence of restrictions on selection for the Boks, and queried if that might lead NZ rugby to look more favourably on a trans-Tasman comp. But it soon...

    Super Rugby 2020

Just btw. Carter Gordon isn't QC (Quade Cooper)'s younger brother is he? I know he was playing school boys last year and had a lot of wraps on him.

I like McCaffrey as a potential captain but to get him on the ground as a starter would probably require Pete Samu to shift to 7. That might not be such a bad idea - he is as good a pilferer at the breakdown as many 7s have been lately.

Can't argue with any of your nominees, but it's a pity Will Harris couldn't also make the list. I think in time he and Wilson will be sharing backrow spots in the Wallabies.

    Waratahs 2020

Can't be certain Reg, but I think Nawaqatinawase also kicks goals. Certainly took some kicks for the sideline in the U20s.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I think you are right on the money Hoggy. It was evident in 2019 that the SA sides were not as strong nor as competitive as they had been historically, and judging by the losses each of them have suffered in their squads for this year, it could be even more dire for SA at Super time. However...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Ahhh. Super 10. Am I right in thinking that was when the Reds (or Qld) was top of the heap?

    Rebels 2020

For clarity, my response to ShowandGo was primarily about his claim that the Rebels need another No 10. I think he said, though I might have inferred, that they are somewhat deficient in the position. My prediction is that a Rebel, one of Deegan or To'omua, will be the starting No 10 for the...

BH it's bush fire smoke. Legalised Pot doesn't come in for a little while yet, I believe. And let me just say that it is not smoke haze. It is fucking smoke pollution. Calling it haze is just the pollies and journs way of minimising the situation. Not having a shot at you here btw.

    Reds 2020

Wright will be entrenched as the back up No 7 to Hooper when the test matches start. If the Reds don't do all they can to keep him, he could be another Liam Gill case and head off overseas long before his time.

    Rebels 2020

Really Show? Deegan has a couple of very strong NRC seasons under the belt and in 2019 was the standout Aussie player in the comp. He has his other GRR experiences behind him as well, and overall has been playing at a level or more above U20s for at least 2 years. I'd say, between Deegan and...

    Brumbies 2020

Really don't want to wish the smoke pollution (more than a haze - about time we started to call it for what it is) on to anyone. Just hopeful that it all clears up in time for the start to the season. Glad to see the Brumbies move temporarily to Newcastle for the next ten days.

    Waratahs 2020

Ah hah. Another swap for AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) coming up? Maybe explains why he's missing from the lists.

    Waratahs 2020

Maybe right Silver, but can't help thinking he would have got time on the field had he stayed at the Tahs. Tahs squad looks to be comparatively light on for front rowers after the starting two.

    Brumbies 2020

Thank you MST. Echos my thoughts and concerns precisely. The season opening is looking a bit dire atm. EDIT : Of course, a few good, strong westerlies to clear our skies and drop the load all over NZ might help to even the playing field. ;)

    Waratahs 2020

Yep, I hear that AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) after the break has tipped the scales at 122kg and has run 100m in 17.8 secs. Ideal for the front row, and the Tahs are surely deficient there after Robertson and Johnson-Holmes. Also, two hyphenated front rowers must be an aspiration worth chasing.

    Reds 2020

Eleven wins will go close to topping the table for the competition as a whole.
