Australia v British & Irish Lions, 3rd Test (Sydney)

Qwerty, is this you in another form? Just asking.....Qwerty disappears, Zander reappears in the same posting style with Queensland hate, Palu and Tahs love, and all the same amusing quirks.

    long term coach?

Any comparisons of a coach of a national team to a club team are complete rubbish. Sir Alex Ferguson could scout the world and hire the cream of the crop to fill the positions he wanted. If the player was a tool, then he could afford to let him go and hunt the world for a similar replacement...

Wallabies: Latest Injuries and selection for Test 2

The thing that is so frustrating is that Ben Lucas got his ear taken off by a stamp in another game which they were happy to let slide. Surely if this was just about clamping down on stamping, they would have appealed to get Farrell cited. There's a definite double standard about the IRB's...

What is the Best Internet Site to Watch Live Rugby??

Regarding Foxtel, I also cannot get foxtel due to the BC not willing to fund the Foxtel installation. I can fully sympathise, those thieves at Foxtel are asking for $40k from the BC to get Foxtel connected, which is an insane amount fo cable a 15 year old building. My alternative was to get...

Wallabies: Latest Injuries and selection for Test 2

The lot of people were mainly McCabe and JOC (James O'Connor), two guys supposedly picked for their defence. It was embarassing the amount of space they gave North between them, and North was plainly never going to do anything but run at them as he had no other real option. The chase from JOC (James O'Connor) was particularly...

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

If you're interested in how some UK press rated their players: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/rugbyunion/article-2346332/How-British-Irish-Lions-rated-attritional-Test-Brisbane.html By those ratings and text descriptions you'd think that they won in a canter.

Wallabies: Latest Injuries and selection for Test 2

We'll need to wait to hear the final injuries before guessing what Deans will do. I'd bet that, if all are fit, the only change from Deans would be Beale for Barnes.

Wallabies: Latest Injuries and selection for Test 2

Horne was a 12 when a schoolboy. Tahs converted him to 13 to fill their gap there at the time. I reckon Horne is a more natural 12 than 13, and it better suited at 12.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Look, last post on the matter. If you think Ant has less ball skills than Horne and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), then you haven't watched all three for years. You don't also know that of the three, one of them has actually played 10. Take a guess which one? Sure, I remember how bad our centre pairing was...

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

The fact you use no balls skills to describe Ant then don't talk the same about Horne, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), etc indicates you don't know the abilities of the players. I think that Horne, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) do have some ball skills, but Ant has more. I'm pretty sure you're in the minority that thinks Ant has no ball skills...

4 turnovers is bad. Turnover your own ball to the other team.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Some other stats: Lions made 5 linebreaks(Corbisiero, Phillips, North, Davies, Cuthbert) to 3 (Genia, Folau, Beale). Genia 3 kicks (209m), JOC (James O'Connor) 1 kick (41m), Barnes 3 kicks (103m), Beale 3 kicks (121m). Phillips 5 kicks (167m), Sexton 11 kicks (291m), Davies 2 kicks (98m), Youngs 1 kick...

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

No pace? Agree. Wow. No ball skills, though. I would say that A. Finger has more ball skills than Horne (who has a habit of throwing horribly loopy passes), McCabe, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper). He used to be a 12 who played 10 at times in club rugby. Obviously you haven't watched him over the years. His passing...

Australia vs British and Irish Lions 2nd Test (Melbourne)

Regarding backline selections, I think there were two selection errors in hindsight, not one - JOC (James O'Connor) at ten, Barnes at 15. Not because of Barnes' unfortunate injury, but because he was rather poor before that. edit: oh, forgot Ioane. Hindsight says that rushing back Ioane was a mistake as well...

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

I actually don't think any Wallaby supporters can complain about the reffing. I am fairly sure that the Wallabies got more favourable calls from the ref during the game. The fact that no-one here is blowing up at reffing decisions in a narrow loss speaks volumes.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Braveheart81 Don't know how you can defend JOC (James O'Connor) at 10. His involvements were appalling. When we had forwards going over the advantage line he should have been organising the backline getting ready for the ball. Instead, at one point in their 10m zone he was hitting it up on the blindside...

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Yeah, that was my obvious point. Deans insisted on him being picked, and in his state of mind I thought that a risk. Agree he played well (tackling issues aside). He gave the backline a lot more structure, or in Deans speak, more "shape".

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

McCabe, JOC (James O'Connor), Barnes for North's try, Hooper, JOC (James O'Connor), Beale, Genia for Cuthbert's try. Mowen, Palu, Slipper, Alexander, Kepu along with Folau and Ioane should run at them all week in practice.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Yeah, have to praise Beale's organisation. He stepped into 10 more often when he came on, and we looked more organised for it. JOC (James O'Connor) was just MIA, and when he would get the ball half the time he just hit it up himself. Bit worried about Beale's defence, but his broken field running is still as...

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Huh? Was a reaction to the risk of putting a guy just out of rehab in a very high pressure situation. How do you think Beale will be feeling right now? Did you actually have a point there?
