Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Now another Wallaby down. Deans may get punished for taking underdone players in.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Poor pass from Moore in front of McCabe sees it knocked on. Better ball movement from the Wallabies.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Genua clears, charged now, Hooper grabs it, offloads. Wide now, out to Beale. Wallabies looking hot on attack.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

JOC (James O'Connor) loses th eball in the tackle to Heaslip, Lions go wide but kick it away, could have countered. Ioane gets back, and gets caught 25m from his own line.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Interesting that JOC (James O'Connor) is not taking the set kicks - Barnes was and now Beale is. Just a head knock for Barnes.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Finally a set move off the line out goes wide to Beale, who is tackled. JOC (James O'Connor) makes a mess of it, holds it up and passes behind AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) who can only get a hand to it. Turnover. Mowen counter rucks, and earns a great penalty. Mowen saves JOC (James O'Connor)'s mistake.

Wallabies defend well at the maul, splinter it and force them over the touchline.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Genia kicks it out on the full.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Halfpenny missed!! 13 - 12 at half time, to the Lions. Close game, but the Lions have had the better of it in the first half. Genia and Folau brilliance have kept the Wallabies in it, North brilliance for the Lions hit back.

Genia was very very lucky there, he was the tackler then didn't get out of the way, and tried to play the ball. Lucky he is still on the field, I think.

Corbisiero makes a break from the ruck, offloads to Croft. Lions get to 1m out, Wallabies counter ruck, but give away a penalty instead. Lions will kick for goal.

Beale will be on. Two backline players down before halftime, not good/

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Lions with some obstruction, Wallabies penalty. O'Driscoll and Davies getting confused. Horwill takes 22 out, Genia runs to the 22. Messy ruck, out the back, turnover. Folau pushed and takes out Barnes. Barnes in no mans land; hope Barnes is OK. He's had head issues.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

The risky options for me were Barnes and JOC (James O'Connor), and they are showing it. Folau has been superb.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

That was all Genia and the Wallaby forwards out to Folau, who got into space and embarassed the Lions defence. Great stuff. And anyone seen our backline yet other than Genia and Folau?
  16. Ash

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Barnes runs one back this time, better option. Wallaby forwards getting over the ad line. Genia links with the forwards, gets a second touch, to Mowen, to Folau, who goes through, steps and scores!

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Bomb from Genia to Folau, who regathers. Good contestable kick that time. Horwill then forced into touch. Need more patience from the Wallabies.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Halfpenny kicks it, now 13 - 7 from the Lions. 13 unanswered points to the Lions, 7 points against the run of play to the Wallabies. Not a great first half an hour.

Australia vs British and Irish Lions - 1st Test (Brisbane)

Lions will kick for goal from the penalty from the maul.

Folau looks like he got him arm under the ball, and North's elbow hit the line.
