    Rugby News from unexpected places

Should also add. If you are interested in watching any of the MLR games they'll be streaming them via their Facebook page for international viewing. https://www.facebook.com/usmlr/

They should count themselves lucky with those bans. Could have (and some may argue should have) been life bans.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

I should also note that the Utah game isn't actually an MLR event. The Warriors have the bye in the first week. This game will be against the well they are calling them the Alberta WolfPack (Praries Wolfpack) from Canada. A mix of players from Alberta, Saskatchewan and to a lesser extent...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

So like pretty much every other nation on this planet.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

The Seattle vs San Diego game has officially been announced as sold out with overflow now being directed to the second game which isn't far off the same status. Utah are expecting the same come gameday. They tend to have a large number of walk ups but going from pre-sales they should go close...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

A multi year deal with MLR. Same with ESPN and AT&T. If the games on the channel prove popular enough then it could prompt CBS (who have a whole bunch of money) could look to buy further properties in the future. There is even some suggestion that the purchase of Ten is a precursor of the launch...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Well, if several differing quotes from both the Pro 14 and SARU are to be believed both parties are pretty keen to continue the transition.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Five years. I think. But they didn't exactly break the bank on that deal. The FFA pretty much took the highest offer from a bunch of pretty dire offers.

    Super W Competition

http://www.rugby.com.au/news/2018/04/19/super-w-hewson-nestor-expansion I would welcome them doubling the season and adding new teams but not necessarily from NZ. Having said that, having 5 NZ teams joining alongside a Sunwolves (essentially the Japanese national team) and a Fijian team would...

    Waratahs 2018

That sums up my thoughts on the comment nicely.

    Rugby News from unexpected places

The match review and eligibility issues are in WR (World Rugby) hands now. These bans have been handed down by RE.

    Shute Shield 2018

Well, that would require them deciding exactly what they want to be. Community Rugby or high performance. You really cannot be both.

    Shute Shield 2018

Dear God, you really are an accountants accountant aren't you? For any entity with finite limitations such as say a Rugby Club/Competition etc. innovation should be at the top of the list of things they should be doing.

2018 TV ratings and crowd numbers

I also think we'll see the NBL do it in the future as well. While we may never see the respective sporting codes in this country launch their own channels I can see them looking to assume the operations of their broadcast much in the same way as Tennis Aus etc. have. Which isn't the worst...

2018 TV ratings and crowd numbers

I tend to agree with this. I suspect a lot of people will be far happier to fork out $20 a month for Fox Sports without the extra baggage of the rest of the dead weight (for the most part) that comes with having to bundle it with other Foxtel packages. Which will be a boon for viewership...

    Australian Rugby / RA

It's doesn't necessarily need to extend beyond that in the short term. The key to building a healthier game both now and well into the future is drawing in more youth interest and participation right across the board. From there you can grow the game alongside them as they mature.

    Australian Rugby / RA

I think you're missing the point QH is trying to make. Hockey has done (and considering I remember participating in 6 week long Hockey programmes back in my early years of school) a remarkable job of engaging with its players and potential players at a grassroots level. QH has mentioned in...

    Shute Shield 2018

Yeah, sorry I don't buy it. I'm not denying the changing demographics in those areas but using them as an excuse just wreaks to me. You have to roll with the changes. There's no reason why you couldn't look to engage these growing communities. Rugby is always billed as a game for all shapes and...

Having seen his work with the Womens team. I'm expecting Walsh to be a very different beast to that of Friend.
